I know the general feeling for P2P isn't great at the moment but we haven't seen any new loans for a while on MT, which is a shame because it's the best platform IMO.
Whilst there may be difficulty filling big Loans, surely there's still a market for small ones, particularly cars ?

The update last night has to be the most meagre ever. Didn’t MT recruit someone new around 4 months ago specially to generate more loans? Goodness knows what will happen when Wigan repays.

With a possible shrinking loan book, then how are the "things" ever going to make a profit?

They'll have to survive on their cut of current interest payments. Chocolate reduction forecast!
MT clearly cut a lot of property development (large-ish) loans from the pipeline, which was probably smart based on what we lenders were not prepared to invest in Now they need to find some more small/non property/new borrower offerings &/or some more lenders.

With a possible shrinking loan book, then how are the "things" ever going to make a profit? Up to now I valued MT's self-control in not firing loans at machine-gun rate but lately the lack of new loans worries me. The latest pipeline is not bountiful either. I hope that whatever comes up next will be attractive enough to fill without cashback.

Where are all the borrowers actually going? Have banks started lending again?

Where are all the borrowers actually going? Have banks started lending again? Maybe they aren't borrowing money, with worries of a recession and housing market slow down. Or maybe another bridging company is undercutting p2p. Overall I bet it's RS and AC nicking all of the property by offering better rates.

The reality is probably that there are no borrowers of the risk acceptable to lenders at these or even close rates.
