It behoves me once again to be the carrier of sad news. Two of the forums staunchest supporters have today stepped down from the Forum staff, and we are saying goodbye to both bracknellboy and registerme.
Where do you begin with bracknellboy who’s commitment to the forum has been enduring? Hailing from the former FC forum he was involved in the very early days here, volunteering to become a moderator and spending a lot of time and effort helping to establish, grow and cement this forum from it’s uncertain start back in the winter of 2013. Two years ago he stepped up once again to become an Administrator of the forum and help with the much needed expansion of the staff team. A commendable amount of time-served from bracknellboy especially while holding down a day job too. He proved a helpful example to newer members of staff and from my perspective, was always the voice of calm and reason, constantly providing a considered perspective.
Investing with a couple of the P2P biggies, google spat P2PIF out, he asked “register me” and P2PIF did – fast forward a year and registerme was asked to step up to become an admin and he did. registerme and I both started our time as forum staff together, we ‘bumped’ into each other in the reported post archives looking for inspiration, and wondering what we’d let ourselves in for, so his departure is particularly sad for me. Loaded with integrity and an appreciation of the bigger picture his approach to Platforms and his resolve to keep the forum running even during trying times has been invaluable. His astute presence will be much missed.
Although we are sad to see them go, and as staff will miss their support and camaraderie, fortunately, neither are planning to retire from all things Forum entirely and will be continuing among us as forum members.
I hope everyone here can appreciate their contribution and join with me and the remains of the staff team, in expressing our gratitude for the work and input they have made and in wishing them both well in the future, whilst welcoming their continued presence here on the forum.
