Nothing happens when I click on the preview button. Does it need activating in some way?

Nothing happens when I click on the preview button. Does it need activating in some way? It should change from showing the post with BBCode tags visible to a wysiwyg preview. If you've only got plain text in the post it will just change it from Courier New font to Verdana. Click the "Quote" button on this past and you should see the BBCodes for quoting posts. Then click on Preview and it should change to a nicely formatted box.

Hi elljay, or anyone who knows. Not really a question about 'Previews' but about pasting into a table on the forum from XL. Like below> | Row 1 column 1 | Row 1 column 2 | Row 1 column 3 | | Row 2 column 1 | Row 2 column 2 | Row 2 column 3 | | Row 3 column 1 | Row 3 column 2 | Row 3 column 3 |
Can it be done? So far I just do it by typing info into each box and it takes for ever. Thanks if anyone knows the answer. |

Or indeed posting any kind of graphic. I've seen it done but I can't make it work.

I think I know how to do the graphic; that's just click on the 'Add Attachment' button when you're composing your post, then the board asks where is the piccy on your hard-drive etc etc follow the instructions as they come up. Here's an example below in it I've 'circled' the two main buttons use for sticking up a picture or graphic:  'Add Attachment' or 'Edit Attachment' button is top right corner only while composing. Maybe that's the way to insert a table? IN EDIT I just realized the best way to insert a picture is use the 'Insert Image' button when you're composing, it's just below the 'ADD Attachments' sixth button from the right. Using it I got this: ![]() I just sent this to J to wind him up on making his 1,000th posting.  The thing is the attachment is used when the item is on your hard-drive whereas; 'Insert Image' is used when the piccy is already on the internet.

Testing... I thought "add attachment" was just for attaching files But now I see that it will insert pictures as well! [Picture deleted to save space] I was trying to use "insert image" before, and I still can't make it work. It wants a url starting http:// and I don't see how to make it it pick up a file from my PC. As for inserting tables: - If you use "add attachment" with a spreadsheet, it just attaches the file.
- One could insert the table as an picture if it's first saved as a graphic file. One way to do this would be Print Screen then copy into Paint, crop, and save.
- Unfortunately, a picture is not editable text. I have yet to find a way of inserting a table as editable text.

It wants a url starting http:// and I don't see how to make it it pick up a file from my PC. Neither button is well named - "Insert link to image" and "Upload file" would probably be better. As you've discovered the first needs the image to already be on the internet somewhere and the second will allow you to upload a file to the forum's storage area so you can insert it into a post.
