When LendInvest ditched their p2p application they continued their portal with HNW / sophisticated investors only (note LI was not true p2p as it was assignment of receivables as with BM). Perhaps they're looking at onboarding institutional investors given their retail ones are not filling the development loans and seeing what mix they could continue with in the absence of restricted retail investors? Greater transparency in Lendy Support 's request would have quelled any speculation.

This could be a potential exit option, if I select retail investor will lendy buy my loan off me and give me my money back? On LI you were only allowed to log in to watch your defaults do bugger all  .

Its regulatory. In order to offer/promote certain types of investment other than article 36H P2P loans (AIUI) Lendy need to know what kind of investor people are as certain types of product can only be promoted to declared investor types. Its clearly stated in the email. It doesnt effect existing products.
