There has been a considerable amount of this loan put on SM recently. Has a, so far, unreported event taken place or is it just people trying to reduce their P2P exposure?

Very interesting about the SM - my guess is that the investors are trying to mitigate their losses.
Well I don't think that was clear in the original loan application.
I just don't see how this boat is going to be finished without more money and I don't see how FS are going to raise it with all the discounted loans on the SM...
This one was due to be repaid 21/07/2018 and the boat is not even finished yet
Looks to me as if this one is dead in the water - a shame but I don't like how FS have played fast and loose with our money (I ditched my holding in this one).

Given the huge cost of this boat I just can't see how a sale will realise the money to repay the capital but a non-repaid loan is no good to any of us. All in all I think FS have made a right horlicks of this one and sooner or later they will have to make a painful decision.
Speaking of painful decisions we are still VERY PATIENTLY waiting for the update on the other speedboat

Still wading through my top 40 - seems that this boat is finally approaching completion but still a long way off from the main journey
so we are going to be well over 2 years late - as I said before fantastic project and ideal for crowdfunding...
There are plans for shorter record attempts but we also have
thus we have a huge amount of money tied up that is over a year late and I guess any sponsors are going to need proof this boat can actually perform before they part with any readies so a bit of a catch-22? Also not sure if the marine electronics have been fitted but if not I guess that will be extremely expensive?
Of course I hope this team finds a sponsor but if I were the borrower I would not sleep at night and this chap is not exactly 25! Also the Germans are mounting a similar challenge and they do seem have the sponsorship etc organised - also after their attempt the boat will be donated for search and rescue - now that is good PR as well as morally useful...
I really hope the UK team pull it off but business is business so interesting one to follow
