There was a case in Italy yesterday where someone was prosecuted for providing a fake review service. I can recall a fine of 6,000 Euros but don't remember if there was a jail sentence as well

Time to take screenshots I think... just in case anyone tries to claim this never happened In spite of these ludicrous shenanigans their TP rating remains in a sinkhole: 4.3 out of 10. Contrast this with Assetz scoring 9/10, MT 8.1/10, and even FS gets a better score of 6/10. Lendy's disgraceful posturing makes me feel lucky to have left the platform. Edit. Without losing a penny.

Check out the BBC investigation dated 28.04.2018 into fake reviews on Trustpilot.
5 star reviews being openly advertised on the internet. Also see the helpful link / reference to Bondora on page 1 of this thread.
After the broadcast Trustpilot stated they have implemented a strict policy about stopping them.
If so, they might like to check out the credentials of Lendy's most recent 5 star entries and the reviewers as so skillfully set out by observant forum users above.

While we are at it... On the Facebook About page for Lendy, are they trying to claim an award they didn't win?
Moneyfacts best P2P platform 2018?
Their list of accolades matches their story....plenty of awards in the past, nothing this year.

Loads of fake positive reviews on TP. Check recent reviews and other companies for those reviewers - amazing coincidence and also amazing how a Swedish language review pops up now and again. I have red flagged these with TP and complained to Lendy. Maybe others would if they agree.

Worth taking screenshots of the fake reviews. Lendy has broken the law by inviting and paying these customers to leave reviews. They are deliberately misleading customers and anyone who invests partly on the strength of these would have a legal case.
Trustpilot themselves have the information required to prove they are fake, although it would be relatively simple to prove that the reviews cannot be genuine on the strength of the other companies the fake reviewers have been paid by. I would imagine the odds could be shown to be DNA like.
I'm really surprised that TP don't step in when this happens (they must have algorithms that can spot that) given the recent bad publicity they had.
The fact that Lendy has resorted to this suggests we are very near the end...

Can I politely suggest that some people on this forum may have developed an unhealthy obsession with trustpilot and should reflect on how much of their time they are wasting on it.
If you feel angered by this comment, then consider that anger is a common response when an addict is confronted about their problem by a loved one.

Hi Hazellend
It would be far better to politely suggest that Lendy........"may have developed an unhealthy obsession with trustpilot and should reflect on how much of their time they are wasting on it".

... is confronted about their problem by a loved one. Thanks hazellend, don't think I've ever been loved by a male before . Come to think if it, I probably didn't need to qualify that sentence

I see Lendy & Trustpilot has removed some of the fake reviews where they could easily be linked to the others through the other companies also paying. They even got the remaining one to remove some of her other reviews to try and hide what they did.
IF ONLY THEY COULD REACT THAT QUICKLY FOR THEIR OWN CUSTOMERS, PERHAPS THEY MIGHT GET SOME *REAL* 5 STAR REVIEWS OF THEIR OWN.

I am more worried about the mental health of my fellow forumites I am more inclined to consider my money, and would suggest at this particular moment in time, not making too many negative comments about Lendy would a sensible position to adopt. So you are hoping you might recover some capital by allowing Lendy to <potentially libellous comment removed> new money out of others? They have openly <potentially libellous comment removed>, surely you can see that your only hope is for someone to step in and shut this thing down.

Might be something to do with Marc at the P2P Finance News being tipped off this morning about the obvious fake reviews and making enquires with honest old Lendy having looked at this particular thread.
It was a very obvious attempt to manipulate the Trustpilot site to boost the Lendy scores. Someone needs to be held responsible as those reviewers were clearly acting together and must have a supply of client to whom they give 5 star ratings.
