I was only going to make a post about all the excellent 4 and 5 star reviews that have appeared over the last couple of days on trustpilot for Lendy. I have to say this caught me by surprise but I shall leave it at that. 4 and 5 star Reviews mostly left by Borrowers I wouldn't be surprised. ------------------------------- [Admin Note] This post and those that follow (timed upto 11:25 23rd April) have been moved from another thread. The quote that opens this post has been edited only to attribute it to its author, now this post no longer follows that which contained the quote.

Your remark (my bold) caused me to take a quick look at Lendy's Trustpilot reviews placed over the last couple of days. As far as I could tell reviews were all by lenders. But what was curious was the strikingly high proportion of 4 and 5 stars ratings (even with reviews that were not full of praise). Also puzzling was the surge of reviews registered in the last two days (59 of them). In contrast there were only 1 review four days ago and another 1 five days ago. This kind of scenario doesn't inspire confidence.

Explanation 1 : An astonishing number of lenders suddenly wish to express their upbeat and positive opinions about Lendy and for no apparent reason feel a simultaneous need to express this in a 4 or 5 star Trustpilot review. Explanation 2 : Mmmm ....

I felt the negativity needed some balance as I think Lendy are showing positive signs of change and also have decent loans in their non defaulted section.
This was not prompted in any way by Lendy.

I also had an email request from Lendy on the 20th so suspect that prompted the 'upsurge' in trustpilot ticks. Not had time or inclination to respond.

I have been a long time SS and Ly investor, almost from the beginning, I am wondering why I never got invited to anything ... not phone calls, reviews, etc. I wondering if their invite is targeted ...

I must say, I find the latest reviews on Trustpilot very bizarre. Lendy were consistently given very bad reviews for the past couple of months with the occasional half decent review (one of which I did myself). But yet with the e-mail Lendy sent asking people to rate them, there has been a massive upsurge in positive reviews with only a small handful of negative reviews. Has something changed in the past couple of days that I'm not aware off that has caused a sudden change for investors to be really positive about Lendy? The default list hasn't changed and no major repayments so what is going on??

If so, then it appears that Lendy and TrustPilot have been comparing their customer databases. I wonder if they will be allowed to do that once GDPR comes in next month.

I posted my copy of the above email request for a review on the phonecalls thread early today. I received a PM from Lendy Support shortly afterwards suggesting I arrange a time for a phone conversation. They clearly didn't read the attached comments.
"Having got no response from the phone call they claim to have made, nor any reply to their follow up email, I have had a further email today inviting me to submit a Trustpilot review..
...I'm not too sure how doing that would improve customer satisfaction. Good reviews get a smug 'Thank you <insert name>.' Bad ones get an argument and a reminder of the risk warning. It makes them sound perfectly happy with themselves, nothing to fix there."

This might make sense if Lendy's email invite for Trustpilot reviews was selective, eg by filtering data from the latest tax statements to identify a sample of lenders who made decent returns. There must be a few them!

I anticipate that if they haven't come up with your bright idea (maybe too bright for them), someone will be asked if they can do it first thing in the morning.

They have clearly spent the afternoon sorting the wheat from the chaff.
Plenty of responses to reviews and plenty of reviews pulled for various reasons.
