Has anyone seen a TP review that has been flagged as defamatory before it was taken down? There are quite a few that are flagged this way. There are also negative reviews which have remained. Perhaps the reviews were 'defamatory'.

I've never used TP but I found this on Wikipedia "Trustpilot reserves the right to remove reviews for which they are not obliged to offer any explanation. It insists that it always makes a bona fide effort to adhere to the existing laws and its published policies to assure that only authentic reviews remain on the website. Companies are allowed to publicly respond to reviews, or report a negative review to Trustpilot's employees if they believe that it violates Trustpilot’s user guidelines or claims to have no record of the reviewer as a customer. When a company reports a review, the review is automatically removed and replaced with a message indicating that the review is being assessed. If the reviewer does not supply the requested information (e.g. proof of purchase) within seven days, the review is removed. Proof of purchase is not automatically required to post a new review so there is little incentive for a company receiving unauthentic positive reviews to report these to Trustpilot, since they are not required to demonstrate authenticity of the reviewer. Given the company will prefer to keep positive reviews and discard the negative ones, the Trustpilot reporting process favours removal of negative reviews over positive ones, potentially skewing visible reviews in favour of the company" In the last 12 hours LY has reported [raised objections to] 4 reviews. One could easily reason that said reviews had a poor rating. All this twisting and turning by LY is unlikely to enhance its reputation. I recently moved to a different vehicle insurer and received an invitation to submit a review: "In order to improve the satisfaction of our customers, we have partnered with the independent review site Trustpilot to collect customer reviews. Everyone that submits a review will be automatically entered into our prize draw to WIN £250 worth of Amazon vouchers to spend on whatever you like from their huge selection!" As a new customer my only experience is of a competitive premium and their acceptance of my payment. Is it worth 5 stars with the proviso that I could change my mind if I don't win the prize?

I don't think the 5 star reviews are being pushed by Lendy. Current investors in Lendy who have any sense will want new investors to join up to help sustain the platform. The general feeling among current investors is to stop funding new loans. We need newcomers to come on board. Any current investor who posts a bad review on TP is just cutting off their own nose.Correct, but I see this as a noble gesture not a foolhardy one. The intention is to forewarn potential new investors and by so doing to put pressure on Ly to clean up their act. I don't really care for the alternative of seeking out a 'bigger fool', offloading all of my problems onto him and leaving the Ly business model unchanged.

I doubt they can really turn it round because they have made such a solid job of demonstrating they don't have a fight in them. Any big borrower right now is getting the message that they'd be an idiot not to try and haggle the bill down, or just do nothing. It's more like Lendy are providing a free show and inviting donations if customers liked it. I can't imagine Lendy having the funds not to be overwhelmed by this. Maybe they'll come up with a loan of their own, payable to them to fund the fight to get our money back. I don’t think Lendy borrowers have the luxury of haggling. If they did they would go to the bank In the cases of DFL004 and DFL005 Lendy have had rings run round them. The borrowers have declined or been unable to meet their obligations and have instead endeavoured to re-negotiate their positions and reduce the amounts to be paid. That is haggling. There's nothing luxurious about it once you have got the mug's money spent.

There's nothing luxurious about it once you have got the mug's money spent. Wolverhampton DFL004 is a classic example. At due date, if the borrower simply says I’m not paying you what I owe, do what you need to do, then the borrower knows this will trigger a long drawn out process of which he is in a position of power. LY don’t have the time/ money to be pursuing every defaulted loan for the next 2 years+. LY is on borrowed time, their only source of income now seems to be stealing investors’ interest whilst they list their loans for sale, desperate to get off the platform. Not sure why they just hired a COO, also not sure why he accepted the job. Very fishy. What a mess!

In fact many loans are in default or suspended so the only people who would benefit from newcomers would be the Lendy owners. Therefore I think I'd be more than happy to see the end of Lendy.

Newcomers won’t be buying the defaulted loans. This forum has a small minority of people who hate Lendy and are on a mission to try and “negative post” Lendy out of business.
If newcomers are scared off by these forum posters then they should avoid P2P completely

I can only assume you're not invested. When you post a positive TP review, you're not posting to friends and family?? All investors are stakeholders in Lendy, why would anyone want to see the end who's still invested ? I don't really get the attitude here. Are you suggesting that we should all keep pretending that everything's ok so that new investors put more money in that can hopefully be used to pay us? AKA Pyramid? To keep quiet and not speak as one finds is very selfish and also very naive if you really do think that new investor money is going to reimburse your loses.

Looks like a lot of the reported 1-star reviews have been reinstated by TrustPilot Look at that last one though... review published 29 minutes ago, reported 3 minutes ago... somebody is keen aren't they 4/5-star reviews getting waved through, low scores getting flags within minutes... nothing odd to see here, honest

I reckon the whole office stares at trust pilot all day instead of chasing borrowers
