Just posted a link to the forum and emphasised that Trustpilot should be careful not to lose credibility.

Nice to see that a one star review that was posted 2 days ago by "Tell it like it is" was reported by Lendy and greyed out but now it's visible so Trust Pilot obviously didn't uphold their complaint about it.

Good to see it around having survived the assassination attempt. One has to laugh at the 4 star review above that has been attributed by a first time reviewer on the basis of there being a "Quick and efficient sign up." What more could one ask for?

Trustpilots strapline - "Behind every review there is an experience that matters". Except for Lendy?

While not trying to protect Lendy as I am in some interesting (negative/default)loans , do the constant snipers realise that you are degrading the platform and in some ways kicking yourself in the teeth. It is not perfect same as a lot of the other P2p sites but you pays your money and takes your choice.
I am slowly withdrawing from my initial great rush to invest, but after saying that I am now more careful in which loans I invest in so still putting money in.
If I look back at the last 6 weeks about 4 names constantly snipe , either they are not invested in any loans and it is in their interest to see Lendy struggle or just like to kick money down the pan by slating so no one invests.
We know Lendy have faults and they are learning the same as us.
It is so easy to be negative , I take it that is the British side coming out.
Roll on a big Dfl pay out.
You pays your money and takes your choice.
Will now duck as the mud slinging starts, it is only my opinion.

Also, sad that they keep obsessing with trust pilot reviews.

Perhaps some here think it is no more pathetic and tiresome than laughable regular upbeat comments about how great Lendy is, in spite of all the evidence to the contrary. It is also sad that a few lenders choose to display unbelievable loyalty on Trustpilot alongside what are fairly ridiculous 'Great company' reviews. Personally I wonder if the objective is to assist Lendy in suckering in more naive lenders and thereby fractionally minimise their own losses. Nonetheless, I fully support the view that everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Someone has posted a fair, non inflammatory two star review on TP this afternoon. It would be difficult to claim that there was any reason for it to be taken down. Instead, Lendy, have responded. "We're sorry that you felt the need to post a review on Trustpilot. ....."
I suppose the poor guy thought he was just helpfully complying with their requests. This review request thing seems to be out of the same stable as the question "Does my bum look big in this?" There is only one acceptable reply.

Thinking back, I had a Customer Service phone call from Lendy earlier this year. I told them things didn't look too good, and they certainly had something to prove before I would be adding to my account. Needless to say I didn't get an invite for a TrustPilot review!

I very much dislike trustpilot - comes close to a scam in my book. They seem to make a massive difference depending on how much money the reviewed company is paying them. Paying companies get their low rated reviews filtered .. errh 'reviewed'.
I put 2 times a one star review up there (for two different companies - not for Lendy). Sample reply below. Note that my review had been taken off immediately until I had provided my order number!
I my case there was no order number visible on the customer portal and I proofed this with screenshots but only kept receiving their standard template email response saying they need an order number. A bunch of emails later after receiving the order number from customer service my review was finally re-enabled. But since you cant search for bad reviews (like e.g. on amazon) no-one will ever page through plenty of newer reviews before reading mine.
Dear ***,
Thanks for taking the time to write a review on Trustpilot. We work hard to ensure that all reviews on Trustpilot are based on a buying or user experience and we hope that you will help us achieve our goal by verifying your review of ***.com.
How to verify your review:
1. Find your order confirmation, invoice or similar from your buying experience with ***.com. 2. Read the following guide to assure, that your documentation complies with our guidelines - https://support.trustpilot.com/hc/en-us/articles/201839083 3. Save your documentation as a PDF or screen shot and attach it to a reply to this email.
When we receive your proof of purchase, we will insert the order ID into the system and return your review to Trustpilot, providing it complies with our user guidelines. Only the reviewed company will be able to see this number, and we won’t forward any additional information like e-mail addresses or full copies of your invoice or order confirmation. Should you not wish your order id to be visible for the reviewed company, please note this in your reply.
Unfortunately if we haven't heard from you within seven days, we will have to archive your review without further notice.
To see the review in question, click here and log in to your profile: https://uk.trustpilot.com/users/connect?redirect=/evaluate/***.com
Best regards,
Trustpilot support

I would have thought any sort of review manipulation where low reviews are being removed is well worth reporting to the FCA.
Is there anywhere that mirrors reviews, so you can capture what gets taken down?
Several years ago, I bought an item from a company called Simply Electronics - I left a trust pilot review, and it was removed. The site was essentially a scam site, yet my warning was removed. I never trusted Trust Pilot since.
I would have thought the reputational damage to a company being caught out in systematic negative review manipulation would be far worse than the negative reviews themselves.

Seeing this thread reminded me to have a quick look on TP. There has been a further one star review that is bound to be pulled down. I like to capture the odd screen shot of them so that I know which ones Lendy were complaining about when they've gone.
In absolute fairness to Lendy, many are indeed offensive and surely do warrant being pulled down. I suspect the writers are well aware of that but get some satisfaction in giving the Lendy nose a tweak. One recent Lendy response that amused me complained about numerous aspects of a review. One however was that they objected to the facts presented. The way it was worded could be read to understand that they didn't dispute the facts, just objected to them.

Actually the more I think about it, I feel writing soliciting reviews - good or bad - is completely inappropriate. Where you have a site with an SM, I feel this could be used for market manipulation - example, lets say you are a lender who has wants to exit, and have stuff on the SM. You are generally a bit fed up with Lendy and the SM isn't moving - what is more useful to you? A 1 star review will discourage new lenders, or a 5 star glowing review to get more punters in to get a bit of liquidity in and your parts moving on the SM.
So I think its a good idea to consider the motivations of anyone writing reviews - good or bad.
