I have noted tonight my interest stated on my account has reduced by £3.00. I have thought previously that I had noticed a reduction in my interest, but could not be sure, as my interest amount changes daily. Therefore I have been watching closely over the past couple of days, and I am sure there was a reduction in my interest from the amount stated this morning and my interest tonight. I can't think of a reasonable explanation for this. Has anyone else noticed this happening on their accounts?
I find it hard to think interest would be added and then taken away. An explanation from Matthew would be appreciated.

Without looking into your account it's hard to say definitively, but one explanation I have seen before - and what it's likely to relate to here - is changes in accrued interest. In addition to showing interest received, your account also shows the interest accruing on your loans day by day i.e. accrued since the last repayment but not yet paid. There are occasions when the accrued interest ends up not being paid, the most common example being where a loan is cancelled by the borrower in the statutory cancellation period. In this case, the accrued interest which you'd have been expecting to receive on the next repayment would end up being cancelled and it would then appear as if your account value decreased slightly after cancellation. However, if interest has been actually paid to your account by the borrower, it wouldn't ever be taken away. If you'd like someone to look at your account in more detail, please do get in touch with customer service as they are very helpful.

Thanks for getting back to me and thank you for the explanation. That does make sense. It was just concerning when the balance goes down, as I had noticed it happening a couple of times.
