SS still haven't confirmed if all loans are lumped together (as we've all intimated to on this forum) if things go wrong with Lendy so, this means you're hardly spreading risk when lending to one & the same entity (Lendy). I'm starting to feel I'd like a bit more return if I'm not lending direct to the stakeholder, via SS/Lendy as the middlemen.

With the current model more and more investors will feel less confident to put more money in (because in reality they lend to one company, Lendy).
I hope Lendy will take steps to reassure investors by publishing their year to date accounts frequently. Just an idea. Probably Lendy will think of something clever enough.
But if there's no change, personally I don't feel very confident to increase my current exposure.

And that's their prerogative & entitlement. It's a shame though that the model can't be changed or more legal guarantee is given (eg special form of insurance on all loans if Lendy has financial issues), as I like the outfit & the types of loans they offer. Interest level are OK but, I won't put anymore due to aforementioned. The crux of it all is that SS won't change a thing unless/until members stop putting more money in & start making an issue of this, nothing changes

Interest level are OK but, I won't put anymore due to aforementioned. The crux of it all is that SS won't change a thing unless/until members stop putting more money in & start making an issue of this, nothing changes I similarly am somewhat concerned about there being no direct connection between my investment and the security backing the loans my money is notionally associated with, and also am having second thoughts on how large a commitment to SS I'm willing to make in these circumstances. But I'm not as convinced that nothing will change unless/until SS members make a big issue of it. All it might take to encourage a change would be if SS are having to pass up lending opportunities because of a shortage of funds, and SS coming to the conclusion that they could bring in more funds if there was a more direct connection between lenders and the security, as there is on other P2P/P2B platforms such as AC and Zopa. It isn't rocket science to conclude that SS could be more successful at fundraising if potential investors felt more confident that their money was better protected than with the current SS/Lendy model. As for lending opportunities and funding supplies, at the moment the situation seems reasonably well balanced, but we haven't a clue how selective SS/Lendy are being in bringing opportunities to lenders. There wouldn't be a lot of point in them bring more loans forward if it would result in some loans failing to fly because of a funding shortage -- that would damage their reputation and I'm convinced that they wouldn't want to try to grow loan demand faster than they can grow funding supply.

In case anyone has missed this: Email from SS,
"We expect PBL008 to go live this afternoon.
The 0.5% cashback offer on this loan will therefore end at 6pm today (29/08/2014)."

Will I get cashback? webwiz - the cashback was indicated in the email that announced the loan, and it has been displayed prominently (in red - 0.5% CASHBACK AVAILABLE ON ALL PRE DRAWDOWN INVESTMENTS) since it became available in the Description and Documents tab. They'll be removing it any time around now from that page.

.....................They'll be removing it any time around now from that page. Or not. Q:When is 6pm not 6pm? A: When you're looking at an SS loan. I've wondered in the past about what happens when they announce a time to end the cashback offer and then the text stays there saying it's available. Presumably anybody who invests whilst the text is still there would get the cash-back. Obviously nobody's sure because I don't think there's been any activity since 6pm.

We did not complete as expected on Friday pm, this was due to the signed paperwork not coming through from the borrower's solicitors until after the cut off time for sending funds. This should happen first thing Monday morning. The cashback offer was not removed from the website until midnight on Friday. All investments up until then will qualify for the cashback offer which will be paid upon drawdown.
