Something appears to be going on with Authy. As usual had the customary approximately monthly request to authenticate logon using Authy and was presented with this: Before I attempt to do what is suggested, can Chris please confirm this isn't a scam. I'm using Google-Chrome on Linux on both desktop and laptops with the Authy extension.

Thanks for the information. Now I shall go ahead with some trepidation and see what 'similar experience' means in practice. Edit: OK, went ahead with that. A bit nerve-wracking, and a remarkably slow download, but seems to work alright. Thanks for your guidance. A plus point presumably means that any browser can be used from now on!

Why, why, why, why why, have we gone back to the gobbledegook 2FA code on the landline? ??
The phone gets to your ear in time to here some fella say ".....xxxthousand ?hundred and sixty eight.....". CLICK. Dial Tone. No repeat.
Ask for a repeat code......same garbage.
What happened to the lady with the clearly spoken numerals and the repeat for verification?
I had to register a complaint on the chat service before and now it looks like the same is happening again.
What's going on at AC HQ? Why are we getting all these very fundamental errors?

I get a text, much better, have 10+ odd minutes to react. Which in comparison to the COOP bank which gives u 10 seconds and 2 boxes to type in is pracicly relaxing.

madmitch go to the two-step-authentication-opt-in page and install the 'Authy desktop app' (or the 'smartphone app' if that is what you are using) instead of trying to use landline. The desktop app doesn't even require you to enter a code, you just open it and click accept when the AC logon requires. It works a dream for me.

Anyone else experienced this?
Does it refer to clicking 'resend' or just the use of 2FA via landline (i.e. repeated uses of the feaure) itself?
I was going through making separate discount sale requests and it worked for 10 or so times and then just stopped working. I was on the legacy site, so that message was not displayed then and I only cam e by it by attempting a discounted sale on the beta site.
New functionality? Teething issues with overuse of the site perhaps? Anyone? Thanks.
Update (Mon): Just happened again, after a single successful use. This must be a bug chris ?

I wish AC would offer another 2FA option using standard TOTP so we can use whatever authenticator app (Google, Microsoft etc) we wish. That would mean we could choose to avoid cloud storage (Authy/Duo etc) and yet still make moving to new phones and PCs easier. It also solves the backup issue where companies don't offer multiple 2FA methods which is a significant oversight.
I've use over 30 services with 2FA and only AC cannot use a generic authenticator app. For all the others I have the seed codes stored in a secure offline encrypted storage file and can use those seed codes to configure any authenticator (phone or desktop) as required in the event of issues with a phone.

I have been unable to get it to send me a code for two days now. I have 2 accounts. Both working via authy and SMS, and I managed to withdraw interest yesterday. Have you contacted AC?

Never had problem receiving the Authy verification code by SMS until today. LiveChat could not identify the problem and put the issue with their IT people. Tried to log in 5 hours later without success: no code received. My email to Assetz got the following reply:
"Thank you for your email. We are currently experiencing a high volume of enquiries and as such it is taking us longer than usual to respond to emails. However, we remain committed to delivering a high level of customer service and a member of our team will aim to contact you within 10 business days."
Looks like I wont get my 10k back any time soon!

I wish AC would allow support a standard TOTP authenticator (MS, Google and many others) for those of us with many TOTP based 2FA systems to manage. It's not as it Authy is fundamentally different as they're using a variant of OTP and the seed can be extracted (see randomoracle.wordpress.com/2017/02/15/extracting-otp-seeds-from-authy/)Authy used to have some advantages in terms of backup and migration but now even Google authenticator allows easy transfer from device to device. I have the seeds for all my systems (and their QR code equivalents) securely stored so I can easily use PC and mobile devices applications to generate codes as required and no worry if a device fails as its easy to set up on another.

Don’t know whether it’d help in this instance but on the legacy system the pop-up box would give the option to request a phone call. Imakwats found that handy in the rare instances the text messages weren’t getting through. Deees Thanks for trying to help. I had sufficient help with LiveChat trying to sort out this issue, even trying (without success) to send an SMS directly to my iPhone but the problem persists. I am now giving it a rest. At the rate at which tiny amounts are drifting back from QAA into my cash account I shouldn't be in any hurry. I can easily wait 10 days or longer as it will not make much difference in the amount I get back.
