The TFA fiasco now means I need to change my login password. I can't, because anything I try is rejected as "too short" (although admittedly I have only gone as high as 14 characters, mixed upper, lower, and numeric).
This is pathetic. Couldn't we just occasionally have an IT change that actually works on first release?

I was rather relieved when it allowed me to keep using my existing 14 character password. Maybe you need to throw in a symbol or two.

Changed mine with no problems. Well done. I had another go this morning, and on closer examination of the non-acceptance I think the "too short" next to password field is because the system has blanked it out. However, at the head of my profile, there appears the laconic "Invalid Code". In the absence of any further explanation, I don't know what they're trying to tell me -- but I'm sorry to say it accurately reflects my feelings about several areas of their programming. Meanwhile, a helpful CS rep has set up a very simple everyday (well, everyweek) password for me so that I can at least log on. I'll just keep that until a brighter day dawns.

I started using 15 digits password 2 years ago. At least AC accepts my password first time without rejecting it because of password rules.

Finally I performed the moral equivalent of turning it off and turning it on again -- i.e. deleted every cookie and cache entry in the house -- and suddenly my profile page looked very different. So now I've got TFA working OK(*), and will try changing my password a bit later on once my pulse rate is back down.
(*) for tedious overkill values of OK

I was told via on-line chat that the minimum requirement is 8 character, of which one a numeral and one a capital letter; also confirmed was that this requirement is not stated anywhere on the site.
If I look at my Profile page, it says "Password strength: too short" - which I presume can only be a comment on my existing password (which BTW is NOT 'too short', although it fails one of the other requirments). I suspect you'll get the "too short" message for any non-qualifying password, whatever the non-quaifying aspect. A case of LAZY PROGRAMMING?

Could it be because you have not typed anything into the "Change Password" box, zero characters is eight characters less than the minimum requirement. Interestingly if I type in my current password I am told that it is weak, despite it being a password that is longer than the the 8 characters, contains a number and a capital letter.
I remember my password, I use my personal mental algorithm, hope I am not forced to change it to something that I need to write down.
