Hi. Just to provide a little bit more data around the scheme... We’re delighted to announce the launch of our Refer a Friend scheme, designed to reward our existing investors and the people they recommend. If you’re already investing with Assetz Capital, you can take advantage of this scheme straight away and earn £75 for ever investor you refer that invests £1000 or more with us. As soon as your referral has met the criteria of the scheme, you will be paid your cash bonus the following month. If your referral keeps investing with us for 12 months or more they will receive a £50 cash bonus too. You can find your unique referral code in your dashboard, along with all the information you need to get started. Terms and conditions apply, for more information visit www.assetzcapital.co.uk/refer-a-friend Best regards.

Lets assume your plan is £50 each for the referrer and the 'friend', Most 'friends' will be contrived to game the system, others will be unwittingly sent by links on blogs and similar, producing investors who are 'poor quality' I guess that's why the friend gets their part of the referral bonus after 1 year invested.
That said if anyone wants to PM my for a referal link I'll paypal you half the £75 signup bonus when it's paid 2 weeks after investing

I couldn't immediately track down your suggestion sorry - could you remind me please ? We are doing something that sounds like that. Lets assume your plan is £50 each for the referrer and the 'friend', Most 'friends' will be contrived to game the system, others will be unwittingly sent by links on blogs and similar, producing investors who are 'poor quality' Simply offer a £100 sign up bonus, both you and the potential investor get a better deal. I will waive my usual 'human behavior' consultation fee, if you want more the meter starts running. I think the idea is to have existing investors sell Assetz to their family and friends. A direct bonus to everyone who signs up doesn't do that. Also, AC often has those kinds of direct bonuses in place anyway. You can regularly get an extra x% when investing new money during y period.

Dont bother , i referred the wife paid in 1000 for her have just got email saying she hasn't met the criteria for 18 days, so not eligible for 50 bonus, previous to that an email saying congratulations, as usual AC have not thought this through i paid 1000 into QAA somehow this has immediately lost money and supposedly barred my wife from her 50 bonus. I havent griped before on here but im getting a little tired of the over complicated mess and the way they do there transactions. I dont want to know that they work it out to the tenth decimal place i just want them to get it right and display it in a way thats understanderble

I also had an email from AC suggesting it was me that had been referred, rather than me being the doing the referring, indicating their systems were a bit 'off'.
Suggest your wife contacts AC to see if its true and, if so, why.

Mrs groon graciously referred me and I deposited twice the requisite amount but have since received two e-mails from Assetz informing me that my balance is below £1,000 and that I don't qualify for the bonus -- although when I log into my account all is well. So it just looks like a glitch in their automated e-mail system.
Update: actually all is not well when I log in. A message is displayed at the top of the Standard Accounts page: " IMPORTANT: YOUR INVESTMENT BALANCE IS CURRENTLY BELOW £1000.00, YOU HAVE 18 DAY(S) TOP UP YOUR ACCOUNT TO ENSURE YOU QUALIFY FOR YOUR REFERRAL BONUS." Maybe the problem is that I put it all in an IFISA, but my reading of the terms and conditions is that that's OK, so I still think it's a glitch.

Just a thought - you have set the QAA to sweep all funds haven't you? If it is just sat in Cash without being swept then it isn't invested.

Given the history of AC innovations, I'm amazed you lot jump on things like this straight away. I'm intending to take advantage of this, but thought I'd just leave it a few weeks to let the absolutely inevitable hoo-ha die down and wait for the glitches to get sorted out.

Thanks for your suggestions, n and peteuk. Nothing in spam and funds were being swept. I asked Assetz and sure enough it is a glitch: "Please ignore the email you received, It was triggered because funds had been allocated to the ISA, which does qualify. For some reason the system is not accepting the ISA in terms of registering for the refer a friend scheme. Our IT department are looking into this and will manually correct this." Mrs groon will be pleased.
