Signed up and working.
Their Faster Payments appear to be slower than instantaneous. But my credit worked, still waiting for my withdrawal check to appear back in my linked account.

The thread title says vampire squad, while the OP says vampire squid. Vampire squid clearly inspires more confidence in the bank, so I need to know which is correct, please?

Ha, was almost expecting that or some reference to a certain other marine animal hogging the headline currently.
If Marcus are clever there must be an advert about the new account being a slap in the face to mainstream providers.
blender title corrected, autocorrect acting fishy there.

That's great, I love cephalopods - and I think that's ok nowadays. I will start with six quid, and then perhaps something better.

Wow, it's faster than Flying Captain. I requested a withdrawal with Marcus @ 1625, fund received @ Starling @ 1627.

I've just tested weekend deposit/withdrawal. Deposit credited within 5 minutes, withdrawal also 5 mins.
It appears that they do operate a true 24/7 operation despite their comment
"If you ask us to send your money after 3.30pm or on a day that is not a business day, we may not start making your payment until the following business day."
I guess the word "may" implies they reserve the right to switch off faster payments outside of business hours if the need arises.

Useful info, thanks. Good to have access to another fscs £85k. Or somewhere to place the funds over the nominal £1.5 - £5k at up to 5%, from high st banks before reverting to 0% Personally I have working funds in a Flex ISA (NW), and ‘borrow’ against that to invest in AC’s instant or 30 day account for an inflation beating 4 or 5% (+ bonus), repaying by Apr 6th. Then any short term funds can pay down borrowings and get NW’s 1% Tax free. Does this sound a sensible strategy?

Thank you for this info. Very quick indeed, took me less than 5 min. I've recently opened M&S so I can use their 5% reg saver, that took almost two months. Marcus looks like the best out of instant access products ATM. Closest I have is BM (1.44%), but withdrawals aren't really instant (next working day), so I use Tesco (1.34%) for quick transactions, now it will be Marcus.

All working well, my only gripe is the lack of a Mobile App.

Anyone got any idea why Goldman are bothering with retail savings in general and expanding into the UK in particular? It seems like a strange move.
