Several times now, I tried to withdraw a larger than usual amount, only to receive an email asking me whether the withdrawal is genuine.
I usually respond within minutes but still, my withdrawal gets delayed by an additional day at least
I have asked them to assume that all my withdrawals are genuine but no they would not for 'security reasons'
@assetz, this is not acceptable. Once a withdrawal form is filled and 2FA gone through, there is no need to stall the request. un-encrypted email is a security hazard rather than additional security as you claim.

The excuse of extra security is laughable given their lack of nominated accounts and having to fill in your account details each time.

It delays my withdrawals by maybe 15 minutes, and I think it worthwhile. If I really could only access the Internet daily then I too would be a bit annoyed I couldn’t give a perpetual “genuine” instruction, but I think such people would be in a very small minority.

Lucky you.
I made a withdrawal request early yesterday morning, received the genuine request email in the afternoon, responded within minutes.
I should have gotten the money today but did not.

I asked them about this when I joined, (I'm fairly new to AC) and they told me they go through a manual process of verifying each withdrawal. That just seems crazy to me, they are not infallible either. I've been pestering Chris over in the 2FA thread to get the nominated accounts thing started, please come join me!

I suppose it is not done by Faster Payment for larger amount. My last 'larger one' took 3 working days to arrive after my confirmation of withdrawal.

It's more complex than that - there's an automated check against accounts used for previous withdrawals, a bank account lookup with a credit reference agency to see if the withdrawer is the owner of the account, and then a manual verification step. The only additional benefit nominated bank accounts gives is to remove the need for lenders to type in the account details. I appreciate that this aids convenience and am hopeful of the feature remaining in the next sprint.

If there's no extra security then personally I would prefer the system to remain just as it is. I use several bank accounts and value the flexibility.

I prefer to wait a few days and have multiple layers of security than lose a few thousand pounds to someone impersonating me.
Of all the platforms I use, Assetz has the highest level of security which I appreciate.

westcountryfunder , would you mind fixing your quotes please? Chris said that, not me. Sorry, lara. My mistake. Not had that problem before. I have tried to correct but doesn't seem to work.
