I guess I knew it was inevitable at some point but my total earnings at FC now stand 0.4% below where they were at the time the September 2017 changes were implemented. Personally I feel this is an utter disgrace.
(You may recall that by the point the changes took effect I had withdrawn my entire captial investment and left an amount equivalent to total earnings in place. No new lending but a healthy yield going forward, or so I thought)
Amazingly though, my FC earnings are still outperforming those at RS. For the moment, at least. It's a funny old game, this investing malarky!

Well that is the same as the stock markets 2018 gains wiped out this week. Everything is a risk unless you invest in funerals or barbers

Anyway, she's very attractive, knows more about football than I do and throws in a 'free' cappuccino, so it's worth the extra money (ok, I may have straddled the PC line there). The only problem is that she's a Man Utd supporter😱 While I'm over the line... I'm not sure it's PC to suggest that us mere mortals get to 'choose' our gender. Though I must confess that I'm way outside my comfort zone here, so may well be wrong. Apologies to the OP. It's late and I may be a tad off topic.

That “free” cappuccino would probably be written off as tax deductible expense thereby depriving HMRC of some revenue and having less to give to the treasury, which means we all pay for it. I hope you did not take extra sugar or sweetener and God (another one not me) forbid you dunked a hob nob.

Whenever I've invested in barbers I've ended up taking a haircut! 😕 In this PC world I should have said Hairdressers. Barbers charge a quarter what you pay in a “Hairdressers “ no matter your chosen gender It seems that you can choose you gender at an early age. Your sex (male, female or inter-sex) is determined physically (chromosomes and dangly bits), but your gender (boy/girl man/woman or whatever other is currently acceptable) can be chosen by you. Many schools now have a number of children who have chosen a gender which is not determined by their physical sex, and that choice is respected. Hairdressers are a special case, as are gods. I notice that Godanubis self-declares as male, but surely that is a choice?

Are you saying that you have had a -0.4% return on FC in the last 12 months and that over the same period your return on RS is worse? Or that over many years FC has outperformed RS even with recent poor form from FC?

And yes. Though around a third of my FC gains pre-Sep 2017 were from secondary market / cashback incentives.

glad I ditched FC although I am still in RS and although the return is only about 3.5% it seems a better bet to me than FC

glad I ditched FC although I am still in RS and although the return is only about 3.5% it seems a better bet to me than FC Greater than 90% out (£5000 +) left but not showing in the London mess. Even with that fiasco managed 5% return. As I‘ve managed to get most of my moderately large investments into FISAs. I do tend to be more wary of taxable investments as losses in my FISAs are all mine so losses in likes of FC ordinary account is really not worth The now minimal effort required to invest.

glad I ditched FC although I am still in RS and although the return is only about 3.5% it seems a better bet to me than FC I'm glad I finally ditched FC, but regret I didn't do it a year ago when I had less defaults and my return was above 7%. Now it is 2.9%. Can't complain about RS. It delivers what's promised - never lost any money or had any delayed repayments. I guess the key is functional PF. I invest when the rates are up and collect repayments when they are down. ATM I'm on 4.1% Rolling and 6.4% 5 year (average 6.1%). I've signed up for both at the same time, just over 2 years ago.

Good for you you prove the point that if invested with care even when there are losses the returns are more than double the banks. I have never lost overall in any P2P (we shall see about Collateral) and currently 15-18% in FS . Lendy just holds your dosh for life and you don’t have losses as they never send in the receiver. (Perhaps a little harsh)
