Actually I don't think anyone did .. several requested that it should last for 24 hours (or 25 at the outside). 48hrs (and it may go to 49) is the result of setting it a bit too small. I expect it'll come out right next time..
This is one of the posts I was referring to. Nov 21, 2018 at 8:53pm QuotelikePost Options Post by cedarcourtcapital on Nov 21, 2018 at 8:53pm Ed.... I appreciate you would like certainty to allow immediate drawdown, but would an additional 24 hours, needed to use the two stage approach, really make that much difference? Using a two period approach would be fairer to all, rather than being beneficial to those with deep pockets and FFF access after 24 hours. This has been the case more than once in the past when you erred on the low side, rather than the high side as in this case. If there is no technical reason why the two period approach cannot be used, I would urge it to be considered in future because of it's equity. With the active lender base dwindling (my assumption), I think the more lenders that can be kept involved, the better. It is necessary for small bidders to get a good chance. Otherwise they will not be able to diversify and therefore will not stay with MT for long. The large bidders alone are obviously not large enough to fill large bids anymore.

This has been set to last into 48 hours because 1 or 2 people requested it. We will see how quick the rest goes at 12 o clock As the person quoted, not by you, as one of the people who was 'pandered to', when we requested a longer and 'fairer' initial offering period, I am glad the suggestion was listened to. What happened at 12pm today was complete vindication. Big hitters or larger investors are certainly welcomed on Monething, but hopefully not at the expense of smaller investors getting a fair share of new loans. If the BHs want something on Moneything to invest in, there is something at present - if they fancy it 😁 Big ups to Moneything for 'pandering' to us.

I was responding to other posts about why the low bid limits not complaining about you being pandered too. The fact you feel the need to take offence is not my fault its down to your misinterpritation of what i meant. I agree with the low limits to allow for all to get a share but i also think they were slightly too low.

How about a alternative scenario for the future: not just extending the limit for another 24h but also doubling the limit in the second 24h period -- £50 in this case -- to enable smaller investors to increase their contribution? Apparently it only took 1 min for the remaining availability to be taken up, with quite a few fast-fingered BHs getting single hits of 4 digits (over £6000 in one case). Smaller investors would have been very lucky to manage that extra litle bit on top of their £25.

MoneyThing already said that the current system requires the first 24 hour, and second 24 hour, limits to be the same. It would have worked fine if (both) limits had been a bit higher (£40-50). Previously it has been suggested that an in-advance 'expression of interest' by lenders would enable Ed to figure out just about the exactly right limit (see how Ly does it .. but don't copy anything else they do!).

A relevant question now that MT is in wind-down mode - will all CSP loans all run to their stated end dates on MT, or will CSP re-finance elsewhere? Are MT actively encouraging CSP to re-finance elsewhere, or do they want to keep them for as long as possible?
To be honest, i'd like them to re-finance ASAP so that I can get my money out of MT. But if I may hazard a guess, the Things might have plans for a future relationship with CSP post-MT, so it might suit them better to keep CSP on the books. Just musing out loud here, as long as the loans keep paying interest on time and don't run into any issues then it's not a major issue.
