I didn't see this loan while it was live, but judging from the fact that it was filled with eight £25 bids, I presume there was a bidding limit applied. Still, I don't expect it took very long to fill. Was the bidding over before 0900?

This is a pilot for "a new type of loan". I like the idea of FS widening the net by using jewellers as agents or intermediaries. A significant number of small loans would make for a very interesting marketplace. I am sure that FS will be careful and dilligent but the question is if there are dangers in using third parties to value and hold the security for a loan? When they have tested the initial loans perhaps FS might offer a thorough explanation of exactly how it works. If this is done correctly FS could expand very quickly, and allow investors to significantly incease their holdings.
