Nowadays when a direct debit fails to collect there is usually a note from FC. This loan has failed to exit the starting gate nearly 2 weeks ago and not a word, not even a wactbfp. This is a loan which was taken as soon as it filled, some 15%ers even got lucky. But that just jangles the alarm bells even harder when the first repayment fails to appear. I wish there was more consistency in the timing of FCs comments to lenders as in cases like this they give the appearance of doing nothing.

I have no idea about the loan, but an excellent example of completely gratuitous use of *****s.

To be honest, I wouldn't have bothered to write the post if it wasn't for the obvious asterisk-innuendo opportunity.

I was hoping that this one might be another problem kicking off the direct debit. At a glance, the company didn't look especially dodgy - no scent of wine inventory, scrap, solicitors or leeks.

FC probably just forgot to pick up the money, and didn't notice yet (it's not as if they read our messages with any consistency). I wonder if it would be suddenly restored to Live status without a comment, like happened to some other loans in my book recently. Unfortunately they don't show scheduled vs. actual payment dates....

Has there been a problem with wine wholesaling recently? I recall holding one of those companies at C or worse, after asking a friend of mine in the trade if they were any good and getting a positive recommendation back.

I remember that one. I asked a question in that auction to try to point out the nonsensicality of the proposal. It should have in my opinion never have been offered for consideration in the first place. There are two other wine wholesalers with live loans and no problems so far.

Now showing up as "defaulted" and added to my bad debt total. Not so much as a comment or Email from FC as to what the heck's happening here.
Not good enough. Suppressing comments to hide the fact it's late is one thing, not even acknowledging it's in default, BEFORE THE FIRST PAYMENT RECEIVED AGAIN is unacceptable.

It's the borrower at serious fault here Mikeb, and it may be that FC are going through an internal process before telling the lenders both about the default and how they plan to respond to it.

It's the borrower at serious fault here Mikeb I'm not sure how you divined that information from the detailed comments we've had on the loan ... because there aren't any At least an acknowledgment of the lateness? -- nothing.

Not Good Enough FC.
Straight into default without a single comment (or payment!!).
I wonder when they will tell us whats going on!!!!
Complaint emailed to FC, no reply anticipated of course.

All I have is this thread. Has not the borrower defaulted without making a single payment? How much more serious a fault can there be? If FC have defaulted it and not added a note or sent an email then it is because they do not yet know what to say - or of course they have added the note to the wrong loan. But more likely this is something exceptional. Edit: Oh dear the FC site has just gone completely - maybe my confidence was misplaced.

Probably my fault, I emailed them early this afternoon pointing out 15 days since missed payment is past time for some info. And here we are!
