I almost choked when I read the latest blog entry, especially when I reached this line: ”Flow achieved. Software successfully QA’d and returned to the team lead for sign off.” My advice to Zopa? Time to send all your staff to some ITIL education and implement what they learn. Interesting that just after wrote the stuff just above this comment I got an email from zopa telling me about the down time tomorrow, that's a first in my eyes and a step in the right direction. That said I'm slightly concerned that they don't seem to be running mirror services that can be updated, tested in isolation and and not affect live services but I guess when i was doing this stuff and the company I was in, had considerably more funds than a small company like zopa. That said its something I would expect them to be considering and working towards as they expand - especially with the considerable down time as well that they have had this past 18 months or so Managed change might be another thing they should consider.
