Hi.
In addition to the emails sent out over the last few days, I felt it would be a good idea to post some of the important information contained in them, about 2 Factor Authentication (2FA) becoming mandatory in the next few days, on the Forum as well. This is particularly relevant given that a thread already exists in relation to 2FA, where there has been a lot of debate and differing opinions as to its features and benefits.
Mandatory 2FA will be rolled out on all accounts between the 21st and 23rd January 2019.
How will this impact you?
Between 21st and 23rd January 2019 when you log in to your Assetz Capital account you will be required to set up 2FA before you are able to access your account. You can get ahead of the curve by setting up 2FA now by clicking on the link that is already visible on your Investor Dashboard.
You have a number of options available to you when using 2FA; Either by...
• SMS
• landline phone call
• mobile phone call
• the Authy app if you have a smartphone (IOS/Android)
• Authy for desktop (Windows/MacOS)
• the Google Chrome extension.
Please note that all options will require access to an active telephone number for the initial set up.
You'll be required to use Two-Factor Authentication for the following actions on the platform:
• Withdrawing funds
• Updating your profile
• Changing communication preferences
• Resetting your password
• Selling at a discount
This helps to keep your account secure in the event that your login details should ever become compromised.
Benefits of 2FA :
• Improved security
• Reduced risk of data theft
• Protection against fraud
• Simplified login process once set up
