Hi Martin, I'm having a problem setting up 2FA as I always get this messaage whenever I select either of first two options: There was an issue setting up Two-Factor Authentication using this phone number, please try again later or contact customer support.I've tried phoning the help line but the call just drops out and I've tried emailing enquiries but get no reply so can you please assist? One issue could be that I'm currently in Spain for 3 months but I am using the same laptop and mobile number. Please PM me and I'll give you my account details, thanks. Hi ohlala. I have tried to PM you but I get an error so have asked the ADMIN to look at that for me. In the meantime if you could PM me with your platform details (email address, full name & phone number) and the best time for you to be in front of your computer with your phone to hand between 9am to 5.30pm Mon- Fri, I will get a member of the Customer Care Team to contact you directly and help you set 2FA up. They may get back to you in the meantime though as you say you have emailed (enquiries@assetzcapital.co.uk?). Regards the 0800 number there are no issues with it that I am aware of and the team are there now taking and making calls so please feel free to ring +44 (0)800 470 0430 if your prefer. Best regards. Martin Heelam.

I am a (very) long standing FD customer. As a bank I rate them very highly. But the worst thing they have done in recent years in terms of customer experience is introduce 2FA utilising a separate "encoding" device (not really sure what to call it). I hate it, as I think do many other FD customers. My old Lloyds bank (UK) business account used to have a little device that I inserted a "credit card" type card into, and entered my pin to generate a code to enable sign-on to their website. The first device got full of dust, the contacts stopped working. The replacement device had an LCD display failure and was nigh on impossible to read. Nationwide has had these things for years. You only need to use them when you're doing something different, e.g. paying someone new from your account. I've got 3 of these in by drawer.

BTW, i had to swicth to Chrome browser to use 'live chat' as it wouldn't work in Firefox v54.0b9

ohlala - I've experienced major issues with time lag on SMS delivery when roaming, it seems marginally better if you can force your phone to use the local network of your provider - so if you are with Vodaphone in the UK try forcing your phone to use Vodaphone Spain. (Probably not a solution to your current problem, but might help going forwards)
I failed to receive any SMS messages when in the US recently in less than the ten minute cut-off allowed by verified by visa which now renders my pre-paid currency card worthless as I can't top it up when outside the UK. (I'll have to find an alternative that accepts bank transfers not just debit card payments)

martinhdir - could AC at least consider the provision of 'Backup Codes' as many 2FA mandated services do, so that those that are not able to receive SMS messages in a timely fashion are able to continue using AC without resorting to a third party application that many people travelling with company laptops will not be allowed to install.

2FA has been pretty painless for me. That having been said I experienced my first problem with it on Monday (or possibly last Friday?) when the SMS code didn't arrive in a timely manner. I was on the phone to AC Towers when five messages arrived simultaneously.
No biggy, but an example of the fact that things can go awry.

Tried logging in yesterday and again tonight via Chrome, refusing to accept my email and Password, neither of which has changed. Also tried to log in using Firefox. Have emailed AC and await to hear.

This article talks briefly about a know flaw in the phone system that has seen an attack attempt to exploit it
But overall everyone together we're safer using 2fa, the article says.

That would be because you're a trouble maker. It's people like you wot cause unrest. Now sorted, 2FA is a pain but it's for our benefit of course, so a necessary evil. The AC system just arbitrarily decided my email address and Password were no longer valid, so requesting a Password Reset, which generated a code I had to use, allowed a new Password to be set and now all is tickety boo.
