Has anyone been able to come even close to working out allocation? It seems completely random. For example there is some implication that there is preference for “old” investments. I have only ever had one set up (since September) and it’s been basically 100% allocated ever since. Now suddenly it’s 25% unallocated and hasn’t made a new loan since 22 Jan. The range is set to the full range. Obviously I accept peaks and troughs etc but given others have made loans since then it seems to have no bearing to age of investment or given I have the full range set the range set... I can’t make heads nor tails of it. But if others continue to get allocations and my cash drag increases I will get sick of it pretty fast... Check your diversification limits and tweak the range a little. Let us know how you get on

Just had a quick look at mine. At this minute, overall across my 25 investments I have 0.54% of idle cash. I have no idea why it works so different for me. I have no other tricks than lower the rate a little when I think the cash might be stuck (e.g. not invested since yesterday). Taking the cold blooded cynical approach, it probably takes the average borrower a week or two after pay day to get cash strapped again. So probably a mid month boost is the normal situation. I think that’s more the wonga type borrower with 30 day loans. Welendus doesn’t run that kind of operation if borrowers were to constantly want to borrower the probability is they would get refused. (That is borrowers main gripe on trust-pilot) Welendus is a medium term loan for the more financially astute but cash flow poor individuals.

Let us know how you get on Ok I have done this with cash drag now at 33%... if it makes a difference this only reinforces how random it is as tweaking those things should not make any difference when you have it set to 5-15% and 5% diversify.

With the PF working well there is no need to diversify at 5% as the maximum would be £500 ie a whole loan. Welendus is the only place I would say that diversification is of no consequence so should be set to allow maximum in any loan as PF takes on any loan before it gets near to defaulting and business model means there are fewer loans likely to default.

Only works well if you have almost 0 cash drag. This diversification strategy back fires when majority of the borrowers repay quickly and cash stuck in the investment queue.

That's the drawback of flegdgling platforms that are not well advertised.
Benefits of PF far outweigh tiny loss of interest waiting for allocation. You can't blame them for being successful at attracting lenders. As with all P2P you decide if you are will to accept the good and the bad of particular platforms

My uninvested funds is now standing at 9% of my balance, no new investments all repayments. 13 days with no new lending, this is the worse I've seen it in almost a year of lending with WLU. I suspected platform oversubscription towards the start of the year but within a day or two there was a Seedrs update calling for more lenders followed by an email saying the same.
It just doesn't add up, the only thing I can think of and it's a cynical through at that, is they are intentionally saturating the platform to boost cash drag and reduce rates being paid against total funds they have to lend. This strategy would work from their point of view because as alluded to in a earlier post, you have to withdraw the entire instruction to withdraw idle funds and the door hits you on the way in the form of losing that months PF bonus on the entire instruction balance.
I sincerely hope I'm being slightly cynical, otherwise the situation is getting a little bizarre.

Afraid We added quite a large sum just over 13 days ago Sorry On the upside it has nearly all been allocated now just a few £k left

F***ing big hitters ! Saying that though the algorithm is suppose to prioritise repayments over new investments, so it's still not right.

You are probably right but does that include repayments from PF or repayments from the borrowers or both ? I have queued funds that came from PF take over still waiting.
It was a test. It does seem to have had an effect. Will drip feed in the future

It is a refreshing change having people investing in P2P complaining they can't get their money IN . Usually it's their money can't be taken out.

Baffling me.
Today (as in since midnight) Ive had investments on one of my investments which were new money added yesterday & reinvestments, and reinvestments on another, but two others havent invested for a couple of days and the the new investment form last week has stalled completely.
