Good Morning All. Sometimes discussions can go off topic. This can sometimes be a pleasant distraction to help reduce stress. Sometimes this can be an annoyance to others who just want basic facts etc.
So I have started this thread for those that wish to expand the discussion of a particular point raised that may be off the original topic. here you have the oppertunity to discuss to our hearts content without cluttering threads.
Simply link to the post you wish to discuss and the debate can continue here and should lead to very interesting discussions.
I'll kick it off with a slightly off topic post. link

What you may consider "off topic" others may consider the nub of the discussion. Since this is the internet I very much doubt that your views of what is the topic will always prevail and maybe that is the benefit of listening to other people's ideas. Since most of us are adults we should be able to see beyond the rules of GSCE exams. :-)

Are you suggesting that this thread should become a repository for all discussions which are deemed off-topic to the thread on which they were initiated ? Wouldn't that very quickly get very confusing since there would be many interleaved posts on multiple different topics, with each one appearing to be off topic relative to many other posts ?
It all feels a bit nuts: I think I need a Topic bar. Or a lie down.

Probably not one of your better ideas sir. There's already a chat board for Gods and others to discuss the minutiae of human life. Best just start a new thread in there for each off topic discussion you desire.

Here’s a topic.
Why do a handful of posters, often relatively new to the forum, decide that their views and insight are SO important and compelling that they must post them ad nauseum, pretty much every day and on every thread, repeating the same points endlessly?
Do they think that the rest of us are stupid and didn’t appreciate the subtle brilliance of their views the first / second / nth time around?
Are they so socially unaware that they don’t realise how boring most forum members find them, and that their tedious, repetitive drivel drives others away from contributing?
Should there be an additional forum rule allowing members to nominate (and then vote on) candidates for temporary or even permanent exclusion on the grounds of being intensely boring?

So we change the name from independent forum to snowflake forum where everyone not in the Kabal is to get excluded. Nice one.
