Probably because it is easier to create a gap in your CV and ascribe it to 'family reasons' rather than associate yourself with a name that will (as Lister would say) make you as welcome elsewhere "As a randy dog at a Miss Lovely Legs competition."

They went a while ago. Yes sure I understand, quite probably once they got their feet under the desk it looked bad so they bu departed quick
