FYI - The Court has ordered that the borrower pay Unbolted £15k plus VAT towards their legal costs by December 28th. £15K is getting away cheap tbh. The main case will be an order of magnitude more I would say.

Might be ordered to pay, but does it ever get paid?
Like a lot of court fines, I do wonder if they ever get collected.

In a matter unrelated to Unbolted I understand the borrower is appearing as a claimant at a Central London County Court on Monday.
The defendant is a loan company

I understand the borrower is a defendant in a civil claim at the County Court in Birkenhead tomorrow.

Anyone know, is there a court date set for the next thrilling episode in this sorry saga ? Last email said 15th May for a case management conference. We should have had an update when it completed.

The case management conference has been moved back to 4 October 2023 by agreement between the parties.
In early May Unbolted submitted an application to the Court that the borrower pay £263k to the Court as security or have their claim struck out. Unbolted are essentially arguing that throughout the history of the claim the borrower has been obstructive and evasive when it comes to costs orders and that it is therefore appropriate for the borrower to provide significant security.
The application for security is to be considered as part of the case management conference.

It's amaising to what length some people would go to avoid repaying the money they borrowed and somehow the legal system allows this to drag on infinitely. I would understand if he was homeless and starving, but that doesn't seem to be the case... Lendy/SavingStream famous "London loan" borrower failed and I hope this one will fail too.

I understand the borrower launched a 'Defamation - libel and slander' claim against Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd yesterday at the High Court.
