Good evening! Well, I was somewhat surprised too see your name popping up on the main screen, as I thought everyone around here hated Wonga owned Invest and Borrow... No wait, you're Invest and FUND... Right. That's a bit confusing... You: www.investandfund.com/The other, Wonga owned, guys: www.investandborrow.com/Now, given Wonga's less than stellar record with legal matters, and the striking similarity in the names, may I suggest a rethinking of the name before too much effort goes into this venture? Wonga might get a bit tetchy about the similarly, or some customers may get a little confused. If I made the mistake, so will others. But I'm just an idiot with a keyboard, not a smarty pants who knows about these kind of legal things. So don't listen to me too much (not that you were going to anyway). I'll go back into my hole of solitude now. |

Hi ribs, Firstly, thanks for pointing that out. We pre-date Invest and Borrow by a good 18 months, and unfortunately we are not able to re-brand at this time. We are writing to Invest and Borrow to register our displeasure with their choice of name in regards to its similarity to ours. Has anyone else had similar issues with this? All the best, I&F |

If you have a trademark you should be able to see them off (but of course they can spend oodles on legal nonsense hoping you give up).

News everyone!
Looks like invest and borrow are shutting down!
Website isn't updated yet, but they are indeed 'no more'. No mention of why. Might be due to the naming snafu, but then why not just re-brand? Maybe wonga's recent woes got the better of them.
I almost feel responsible for this. I feel some weird, warm sensation in the back of my head.

Good morning all, Thanks for the update - we can't claim the same weird, warm sensation in the back of our heads as ribs as this isn't related to anything we have done (as far as we are aware). Just to round this bad boy up.... As I know many people will be looking at this in years to come in utter suspense of this great saga... Did the website finally close? Where did all the money go? Edit: no, ilmoro! Read this thread more carefully. It reports the death of the Wonga imposter and claims this concern lives on. But when I looked, I thought I might be looking at a ZOMBIE WEBSITE. If Invest & Fund live on, I am suggesting they blog themselves some newer news and loans than Jan 2015.

Hi captainconfident, Happy to say that we are still very much alive and well, and extermely active on our social media channels. The type of loan that we offer is changing. We are now exclusively lending to property development projects rather than SMEs in general, all secured on 1st/2nd charges. We're having to change a fair bit of our website to reflect this - all of which is in process! So apologies if the website is looking a bit bare at the moment. We've got a few more exciting announcements to make regarding non-executive board appointments we have made recently as well as our other developments, so you'll see us making a song and dance about it all soon.
