using a private window, as is necessary under such circumstances (firefox CntrlShiftP), which allows no cookies, the rude one came up first but as an advert only. This is very sensible on their part, as people actually looking for them might not know the name exactly (dare I mention word of mouth?).

Where are you seeing the ads? At the top of the search results or on the right side of them? I also use ABP. If you haven't tried them yet you might try adding EasyList, Peter Lowe's list and EasyPrivacy to your filter subscriptions. ABP also has a filter preference "Allow some non-intrusive advertising" that is enabled by default. The Read more link says what it enables. You could try turning that off to see what difference it makes. From looking at the rules a very large range of Google-specific ads are permitted if you leave it enabled. James thankyou very much, the ad was at the top of the list but is no longer there after deselecting non intrusive ads as you suggested. Maybe Adblock Plus added that feature some time as I can remember those ads suddenly appearing a while ago and they have been annoying me ever since. At my age I don't have much need for toys!

I joined Bondora last night - while I was doing a bit of research I kept finding the "other site". I found that a bit surprising. Google's Autosuggest even thinks you're searching for the "other site" .
