Just wondering what people think about it? Last close was around £1.29 giving a yield of over 6%and P/E just over 12.
Seems to me like a better income stock than it was a year or two ago and (then) all the rage in the money sections of the papers.
And safer than most/all p2p ? Or maybe not.....

Given the divi was cut buy 40% from >9% to the current c. 6%, I guess it all depends on whether you feel the events and circumstances that predicated that cut have been militated by VOD (such that a further cut is unlikely) and/or that the risk of further bad news is 'baked in' at current levels. Or, are you happy to buy now at a notional 6% and accept that the dividend yield target may fall again? Maybe to 3-4%? (Still not terrible.)

What about sainsbury's shares ? They are at a 52 month low. Also are a possible takeover target for the qatari investment fund.

Sainsbury's largely depends on your view on the UK/EU groceries market.
There are what, something like ten brand-name players in the UK ? Plus a small handful of "others".
Then there's the whole question of your view on dark stores.
Not forgetting, of course, the B-word and its potential impact on groceries and Sainsbury.
And specifically with Sainsbury's, there's also your opinion on the whole Argos thing to consider, particularly in a world there is a certain other company beginning on A that sells all the stuff that Argos does (and more). And also the question as to whether you think the Sainsbury banking arm has any legs left in it.
I knew selling GM foodstuffs would come back to haunt them one day ...
