Certainly some food for thought there.

You really couldn't make it up considering what has been found out regarding Col. Speech by Sarah Pritchard, executive director, markets and executive director, international at the Financial Crime Summit, London. Fighting financial crime is a priority for the FCA and a key commitment in our 3-year strategy. Cases are complex and can be difficult to prosecute, but where we see harm and where our objectives are engaged, we will use all of the tools in our regulatory “toolbox” to respond.

She's clearly the biggest "tool" in the toolbox

My will to live is strong, I haven't read the full report yet This is of course the first year where the FCA has been tasked with promoting the UK financial industry and to promote its growth ....... what could go wrong! Well the Financial Times highlights the tension of its two roles "Nikhil Rathi, the regulator’s chief executive, said it was aiming to balance its crackdown on financial wrongdoing with encouraging innovation and growth."

I submitted a FOI request regarding the chattels on 17th July
The FCA asked for 'clarification'
I supplied the clarification
So the 20 days started again and today within days of the 20 days running out the FCA has again asked for clarification.
Questions 5 and 6 were So the 'alternative' offered by the FCA above is not relevant, the position of the directors not appearing on the list of unorthorised firms and individuals was established years ago!
But by asking for this clarification the FCA can start the 20 day clock again .............

They really are being as obstructive and unhelpful as they can possibly get away with. Somebody there must be smart enough to realise that, at some point, this approach is going to bite them in the proverbial.
EDIT: There's a delicious irony here in that were any of the companies that the FCA is called to regulate found to approach their business and their customers in the same way they would be in breach of many of the FCAs rules / laws / guidelines / expectations about how a business should be managed.

Well strike me down with a feather, new words bolded, that was worth waiting for! You are far more observant than me. I just see blah blah, blah and then the endlessly annoying.. We are grateful for your continued patience. At which point I wonder if enforced endless waiting is really continued patience in disguise. I am inclined to think 'not really'...

Another day and another FOIA request classified as 'long overdue'.
This is not the first time that the FCA have delayed replying to this FOI as shown in my latest chasing message.
