batchoy -- I noticed this one paid up correctly today as expected, and that the rate has been reinstated. The only dangling feature is the accrued interest is still showing as accrued. I didn't mention it yet, as I fully expect it will fix itself overnight and reset to £0.00 (+some pence) tomorrow. If not, then something's gone wrong. This thing of "accrued interest remaining accrued after a payment" seems to happen on glitched loans, and on those that pay a day early. Magic happens at midnight. Indeed there's a recalculation overnight that will automatically correct any issues unless there is a genuine bug. Let me know if it's still a problem in the morning.

chris the accrued interest run has fallen over again, probably tripped over at CWE ?? The first few loans (by most recent) have been updated and nothing beyond. Can you kick it again?

chris, looks like it's tripped again today. Thanks, it's been kicked. Pesky deadlocks. Changes being made.

chris, looks like it might need another kick today too. Done. I've made some more adjustments to try and help it but I think there's a couple of database queries that need restructuring to make deadlocks impossible. As the site grows, and the automated systems grow, there's more things trying to update the database at the same time.

summat's gone wrong - loan 87 I got an interest repayment but accrued amount not reset, and principal repayment made but hasn't picked me back up to my target amount. (these reported to dominic)

Did this fail again last night? Yes. About 15 loans (of 77) haven't updated this time. Random scattering, no particular order. As ianb noted, some have paid up and not reset back to £0.00 (wait for midnight). chris more WD40 needed on the database.

Accruals wrong again last night! chris Please re-run and put some code in to re-try whenever a deadlock occurs.

Accruals wrong again last night! chris Please re-run and put some code in to re-try whenever a deadlock occurs. There is code to retry when a deadlock occurs. It's occurring frequently as accrued interest is currently stored against each loan unit in what is a very congested table. The plan is to move accrued interest off that table into its own one but that affects a fair bit of display code so isn't that quick a fix.

As ianb mentioned, loan 87 repaid principal a couple of days ago which reduced my holding to below my target, but despite my having cash free and units being available in the loan the system hasn't brought me back up to my target. Is this intentional?

I reckon that the problem is still outstanding - my holding on that loan hasn't budged since I spotted the problem early in the week.
