About 17.50 (27Oct), £73.90 of Liverpool Elec came on to the market. I thought that was weird, as I would have guessed plenty of people had targets set to pick some up. My own target was some £19 above my lending amount, so I didn't get why I hadn't snapped some of this up already. So, I tried increasing my target amount so that I was £100 over my lending amount - didn't snap it up. I saw a new option 'set investment target' and wondered if maybe the front end has got mixed up and is misinterpreting the commands fed thru the keyboard. Still no luck. Tried logging out, logging in, another change to the target amount. Finally, about 10 minutes later, the loan units available disappeared - not to me . I'll get over that but has some bug been inadvertently introduced ? Before this the software had kindly been giving me bits and bobs earlier in the day but this Liv Elec behaviour is contrary to anything else. Anyone else noticed anything amiss recently ?

I should be getting a bit of Liverpool Elec but nothing today. System is doing something though - got two bits of Nottingham Bridging and a sniff of Staffordshire prop.

Yes, I had that same experience in that loan at that time. Also the same thing with auction #66 at approx 15:50. Both times I did eventually (after several elapsed minutes of puzzlement) get some shrapnel amounts, but not the full amount that I had asked for nor anywhere near what had been showing as available for several minutes.

About 17.50 (27Oct), £73.90 of Liverpool Elec came on to the market. ... Anyone else noticed anything amiss recently ? I seem to have bought £1.00 of this loan at 1756 Monday. I suspect that there may have been many lenders with targets above their level of holding, and AutoInvest assigned £1 of the available part to 73 of them, 90p to the 74th one, and the rest received nothing. But that wouldn't explain why any of that loan should have show up as being available, unless it was observed at just the right time before AI went to work.

Yes, I would guess you are correct, in that AI has 'locked' the amount while it distributes it out and that I was unlucky with the timing, but as you say, it shouldn't have put it up there as being available (when its not).

But that wouldn't explain why any of that loan should have show up as being available, unless it was observed at just the right time before AI went to work. There is an alternative behaviour when manual invest can't distribute at least £1 to each investor interested in the loan where it is divided up as you say and distributed at random. I don't think that code path has any issues, and whatever was displayed on the site seems to have sorted itself out, so it could just have been a busy / slow patch. Manual invest, or more accurately the system behind the scenes that actions aftermarket sales, is deliberately single threaded and operates on a loan by loan basis. If one lender has new funds deposited in their account that will trigger a buy event that will check each loan in turn that they're interested in (starting with the highest rate) but will check that loan for all lenders interested in it. Loan units are then distributed amongst all interested parties. Same process when loan units are listed for sale, all interested parties are checked as a group. Usually that takes a fraction of a second per loan, up to a second or two if there are sales to process. These happen sequentially to prevent race conditions as it's quick enough that all loans can be checked in a few seconds. However if another process blocks the system, as will periodically happen, then no sales will be processed until that block is removed. Perhaps that is what happened this time? Without being able to see the issue as it occurs I can't really diagnose it either way.

But that wouldn't explain why any of that loan should have show up as being available, unless it was observed at just the right time before AI went to work. Further to what chris wrote, there's one other condition required, and that's that the potential buyers also need to have cash available in their MLIAs. I'm beginning to think it's unlikely that there were more than 74 people with targets above their level of holding and a cash balance. I say this because I sold £20 of Gr*** D*** BI T3 at 1712 today, and it showed up in my statement as four separate £5 sales. That suggests to me that there were only four people with targets above their level of holding and a cash balance. If there were only four of those for what I would have thought would be a reasonably popular loan, then I would think that the probability of there being 75 people looking to buy more of Liv****** Elec****** would be rather slim indeed. But that is JMHO.

Yup, thanks for the heads up, I saw that there was a marooned chunk of London law and rang up AC. Glad it was of some use.
