I called the main customer service centre to ask if my local branch will certify documents – they said yes (and for free!)
So I walked down to my local branch, at the window she asked for my debit card, put in pin (so they can verify I bank with them), she took the documents to the back and jumped through all the hoops as set out.
She did my driver’s licence ID and my company account bank statement (not with Santander)
There no charge – so that was refreshing!
Accountants and lawyers are getting enough of our money! £10 for 3 minutes work, I don't think so!
If you bank with someone else – maybe see if they do the same.
Still a hassle though!
Will this never end!

Great, I'm with them but they closed my branch a few months back, there's still a branch fairly nearby though.

Since Shoosmiths have so many offices in the UK, could they offer free certifying documents service on behalf of the AML verification Team?

I am very pleased that Santander have assisted. That is good PR and well done by the staff.
We should not be required to do any of this running around in the first place.
Demand an answer from RSM as to why theie vastly expensive Experian check has not cleared you under this faulty AML procedure as it implies there is something wrong.

Why when they clearly have so many incompetent back office staff? Nice try though! I'm not typically a cynical person, but... My belief now is a "comedy of typing errors", or as Del Boy would say, "Pot Pourri"!

Gonna try this and update.
Are you expected to supply your own photocopies, or will they do that as well?

Valid form of Photo ID matching the name of the investor account - original document not photo copies b. proof of address matching the name and address of the investor account - original documents, will accept printed copies of statement downloaded directly from the bank / utility providers . Hopefully, you will receive the certified copies after being certified.

I've been specifically asked for an unredacted bank statement, nothing about alternatives like utility bills.

The email I received on the 10th from Lendy stated 5 different forms of acceptable proof of address: a. Bank account statement registered with Lendy investor account in the last 3 months b. Mortgage statement in the last 3 months c. Utility bill in the last 3 months d. Local Authority council tax bill - current council tax year e. HMRC self-assessment letter dated current tax year I am curious why it is different in your case.

I am curious why it is different in your case. So am I!!!! My only guess is transactions related. Other platforms have asked me bank statements to prove money is coming from my own bank accounts and money is being paid back to my own bank accounts. For example, money sent from Lion bank while withdrawing money to the Blackhorse bank.

So many investors will want more info, ask more question, try various bank refusing them, solicitors not wanting to certify until its the original, many delays, etc. Of course, this will add significantly more work for them. And it's all good for them charging £400/h
