This forum is a community and I enjoy using it not least because there is some discipline - the sanction exists to suspend members.
I see we had another resurrection last night - DOB first of april - I think this is the fifth incarnation
It makes a mockery of the rules if people can post then resurrect themselves like this - surely there should be a limit on how many times a person can do this? Or at least a one month period between cancelling one account and starting another?
Eg Old Grumpy was man enough to take his punishment rather than simply become Grumpy Mk2

One of the early incarnations was banned. The recent ones are being deleted by the user themself. The only rule we have in place is:
You may not use more than one account as a way to circumvent the forum rules or policies or impersonate other members.

I think if a person is repeatedly reinventing themself and that is allowed by the rules maybe consider a rule change. This isn't about banning someone for being a bore, rather if we have some hope of avoiding being distracted by posts that are tiresome.
The only motivation i can think of for repeated resurrection is to be intentionally tiresome

I was wondering if they couldn't find the "Logout" link... But seriously, being tiresome in itself isn't a reason to ban someone, but persistent breaking of the rules requiring constant moderation is. A final warning was given this morning. Banning applies to an individual not a user name.

Ah i was using the word tiresome as a euphemism for something worse but didn't want to inflame things. Does an individual get a warning or the username - and the answer to that is behind my original point that a sanction won't be effective if someone can just reinvent themselves every 24 hours.

Obviously it applies to the individual per Elljay's prior post. But of course if someone chooses to keep recreating accounts with different email addresses then it may not be instantly picked up. Regardless of prior history now, per Elljay's post a final warning has been issued.
