Now it has become an infuriating puzzle.
Something beginning with A that is known to be wealthy, and which combines with something beginning with R, and would be amusing as the punchline of a joke if instead they needed to borrow money ...
I need a clue. Are the numbers of asterisks correct? Is there an E in it?

That's the problem with jokes based on borrowers names. Think large onkine bookseller for the one not needing a loan, and then guess, but DON'T WRITE, the name of the minnow who did.

If it is an online reseller, then there are a couple of things people don't realise about this business:
1. A large proportion of the UK based ones lose a lot of money because they have been disintermediated, and the Chinese companies trading directly from China supply directly. They can do this because either they are helped by the largest online platform who do all the inventory holding and fulfilment for them without them needing a physical presence here, or else if the packages are small they do it directly from China because we are part of a global agreement for postal services which was set up in the 1970s when China was poor, and this means a parcel sent from Shenzhen to the London gets subsidised (by the UK taxpayer) and is cheaper to send than the same parcel from Sheffield to London. This is nuts but true.
2. When they supply directly from China they don't pay any VAT, as there are millions of small parcels moving so the customs enforcement teams cannot track so many, so they let most smaller size parcels pass with no customs and import VAT. This basically destroys the business of anyone reselling in the UK as they don't have the option of not paying tax.

How can I find this loan on the platform? I don't think you can see the whole loan book, only the loans you are in.

If my memory is not failing me, there was never a chance to view the whole FC loan book, or may be I didn't know how to do it? I'm not so aware of changes either. I log on once a week to check if anything is available to withdraw, but don't go any further. I'm so glad I'm virtually out of FC with no capital loss.

Yes, you used to be able to download the whole book, but capturing some of the data could only be done when the loan was open for bidding.. The download was missing more and more each time they updated it!
