Hi,
I am currently with iWeb S&S ISA and they are great so far - no monthly account fees, just one off £25 to open the account and £5 per trade. My only problem is that they are not a flexible ISA. Would you have any recommendations for affordable and flexible stocks and shares ISA?
I love the ISA for tax reasons but it feels like a lot of pain to move money around or is it just me?
Other option would be to stick money temporarily in the cash ISA as they have lover fees and it is easier to find a flexible one.
Thank you for any advice

Hi, Vanguard S&S ISA is flexible, but you are limited to Vanguard funds to invest in, but that's not a problem for most people
The Share Centre S&S ISA is also flexible. Fixed cost so good for larger portfolios.
I have both of these.
Selftrade S&S ISA is apparently flexible nowadays, but I left them years ago because their platform, charges and service went downhill; they may have improved since then though.

Barclays is flexible (but not cheapest, depending on the size of account).

Flexible ISAs seem rather pointless. It puts you into the realms of needing the capital you've put into your ISA, which most likely means you're probably not really gaining any tax advantages from the ISA if you're constantly pulling money out to spend it.
The whole point of an ISA in my book is it's one-way savings in perpetuity unless you absolutley need access to the money.
I agree. What I am trying to do is bank the ISA allowance and depending on the circumstances have a freedom to invest outside ISA ecosystem. I was looking at S&S ISA as that is where I would like to invest more in not so distance future.

Personally I find the flexibility of a Flexible ISA useful.
My cash flow can be unpredictable and lumpy, being self-employed.
So earning a bit of tax free interest on monies set aside for dry spells is all good.

Not sure it makes much sense to use a S&S ISA for savings over a period of months though
