... banks are only huge edifices of confidence built on imaginary sand (as we saw when we baled them out). I agree that bankers should be baled - in the kind that has wire bound round it.

I did hesitate between baled out and bailed out, and since bale out is 'remove (water) from a boat by dipping and throwing over the side', for the purpose of improving bouyancy to avoid sinking, I thought that was right. Bailed out includes 'removing a threat' and so you could use it. Baler twine (nasty orange rope) has many uses - almost always unsightly.

My annualised return (after fees and bad debts) is today reading "0.1%" after a two week spell of showing nothing at all.
