Dear Lucy
I notice that for the second time since the new website was launched you have invited me to partake of a survey on MoneySuperMarket. You say that "If you've got 5 minutes, we'd be grateful if you click through to the survey form and give your feedback on RateSetter."
It is almost as if you would value my opinion of RateSetter, that is good to hear, but I fear not true. It is somewhat contrary to my experience since the new website was introduced. I did write to you at the time making my views of the new website clear. Perhaps my e-mail was filtered out by some of your minions as they feared my views were not what you wanted to hear. Indeed I can imagine that they just sent you good reviews as that fitted in with the RateSetter culture of pretending that you were producing what the customer wanted, a wonderful customer experience. Whatever happened to my e-mail? I never did receive a reply so I can only assume that it ended up in an electronic trash can somewhere.
Are you still of the opinion that the vast majority of your lenders like your website? Of course you cannot please all of the people all of the time, there will always be a few culturally impoverished nutters who cannot appreciate stylistic genius. People who will not go along with the adoring crowd. Perhaps you think I am one of them? If I was indeed in a tiny minority then you will have done a good job, and you would be right to ignore my opinion. However have you looked at the poll on this website? If not I suggest you do. In summary 12% like it, 11% are neutral, and 77% do not like it. That seems like a pretty clear result, with a landslide victory for the yuch camp.
Why are you so keen to get views via MoneySuperMarket, but so reluctant to take account of views on this forum, and interact with your lenders here?
It is a pity, as RateSetter have got so many things right. Prior to the purple horror it was my favourite p2p site, where most of my new money was going. After, well I get so grumpy every time I have to visit it to deal with my repayments, that the thought of putting in new money is an anathema. Perhaps that does not matter as your volumes appear to be OK, but then you are clever enough to realise that running a big ad campaign at the same time as launching the new site would effectively mask out any negative impact from old timers like myself.
Anyway, I did have a go at completing the survey. Disappointingly it just consisted of a load of slider bars with no opportunity to enter text. I did not feel therefore that I had managed to make my opinion clear, and as you say that you are keen to get my opinion I decided to write to you again. However as my previous effort at communicating with you via e-mail fell on stony ground, I decided to try another route.
Lucy, your website is horrible, and it ruins an otherwise excellent p2p offering. There is no need to explain why, as that has already been done many times in this forum. I suggest you have a read.
Best Regards
John
