Right. Well I invest for pseudo interest in small, almost exclusively £25, chunks and the possibility of a larger one is too remote to even be worth the trouble of looking until the whole lot are ready. I'm curious littleoldlady , do you just put £25 in a few times a month say but separately or are you just winning £25 and reinvesting it. I've only just started myself - first draw next month - but since Mrs aju has had a few £25 touches since starting in Jan and all of them are in her 20k single block invested in Nov I've taken a big block approach for myself too. If you don't want to elaborate further I'd understand but it does seem an interesting idea if potentially time consuming. Sorry about the ambiguity. The £25 chunks I mentioned comprise the quasi interest. I have a large stable holding.

1x£50 for me this month. First time I've won more than a £25 prize for as long as I can remember.

Mrs Aju got back on the horse with 3x£25 this month but sadly nothing for me (early days yet for me but Mrs Aju's total so far since Jan is £200 for just over 48k with the largest block of 20k). Up till this month all of her wins (all £25) were in her 20k block whereas this month she had her £25 in 3 different blocks of 20k, 6k and 5k. She's reinvesting wins at the moment.

1 x £25 on £50k this month.
Strangely, the last 7 wins have all come from the same £10k block, the other £40k hasn't won since February.
The good old reliable 404MF block continues it's winning streak with another £25, plus £25 on one of the other blocks.
That makes £650 over the last 11 months from£50k.

I see that one of the £1m winners for August only had £1,001 worth of bonds. Was getting a bit excited when I saw it was Devon and started 404, but all a false alarm.
Roll on tomorrow when the small prizes are anounced.

Premium winnings converge to the average over time. Thus when someone reports being on a winning streak, time will turn that back to the average. There is no streak in other words merely a statistical blip. Yet people talk about their luck as though it departs from the average experience. It does intermittently but won't over time.[the same applies to dry periods- they are probably more representative of average winnings]

In practice a winning streak early on in your holding will, with average luck thereafter, leave you ahead of the average for the rest of your life. Fortunately the converse is not true. A losing streak early on will have virtually no effect on your long term average winnings with average luck thereafter.
