2 x £25 this month, nothing for last month from full 50K.
Overall return averaging at 1.59% a year since 2006 from the full amount allowable at the time.

Zilch again this month on £30k, this is clearly retribution for my £150 bonanza in June.
Still averaging just over 1% though so not feeling too rejected just yet....

Won £25 in July on the full £50K holding which brings my "interest" to 0.95% pa for the past year. The trend is undoubtedly down, so I'll pull out if I ever get two dud months in a row. "If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all." - Cream

Managed to get some sense out of the NS&I site after some interesting issues with their site over the last few days.
Me £25 and Mrs Aju £25
Not sure we have been in long enough to be able to say that returns are reducing, also only had £25 hits. Mrs Aju has had two months Feb & July where she got £75 both made up of 3 £25 hits. So far for her she is averaging 0.75% since Jan which is roughly 1.01% for the year.
Since i only started last month then its not really worth do the sums to expand for 12 months. We'll see. Neither of us are quite on the max allowed. We are both just reinvesting the returns so far.

A friend of mine thinks you should churn your holding regularly, but I'm not sure that has any effect apart from making you feel you are doing something (and losing the odd few months in the draw).

I suppose the acid test then is what is your friend's relative return?

And to a large degree they are correct of course. The "interest" rate and odds-per-bond are now at their lowest level for 12 years. In May 2008, your returns (at 3.4%) would have been three times today's returns (at 1%). www.nsandi.com/historical-interest-rates

- first 6 months - £425
- last 6 months - £225
Only one winning number got more than £25

A friend of mine thinks you should churn your holding regularly, but I'm not sure that has any effect apart from making you feel you are doing something (and losing the odd few months in the draw). I suppose the acid test then is what is your friend's relative return? I got £1000 win this year (as well as the usual £25s and £50s) so I think I'm ahead. Actually I never followed it up, but you would have to look at the long term and compare them churning every year or two with someone sticking to the same bonds for a good number of years, and any effect would still probably be hidden in the noise.
