As they bought in May it should have been their first draw (unless it was bought by reinvesting winnings which would be even more jammy ) Jeez, I've just read this and as I upped my holding by £20k in May I got a tad excited. Logged on and...........................................................£25x2. Don't know whether to laugh or cry A wins a win - but maybe next month (and if you do don't forget who said it )

I was sure I checked at the start of the month and had 2 x £25, just logged onto my account and had 2 x £25 + £1,000. Biggest ever prize for me and I didn't see it! Maybe I looked too early, but I thought bigger prizes come first.

Congratulations Greenwood! A prize is even better if it's so unexpected. I've just bought some more bonds with cash I withdrew from RS earlier in the month, but certainly not enough to make it worth checking the draw each month.
I'm glad they've kept the top prize at £1million - 2 tiny chances of winning that amount are much more attractive (to me) than a teeny-tiny chance of winning a multi-million prize on the National Lottery that would probably bring unhappiness in it's wake.

my premium bond average with max holding, since Sept 18 is 1.37%. First 12 active months 1.55% spread in £25s over most months, most months over £50. Recent 11 months 0.85% most wins £25. Doubt that it will be made up by next month. Anyone else see this kind of difference?

If by last month you mean July then the good news is you have not lost the bad news is you have to wait a whole clear month to win i.e the NSI example in the bumf/doc's is buy in Nov and enter the Jan draw Hopefully you meant June

I do wonder if it is worth cashing the whole lot in,missing a month and starting again.... I have a friend who thinks churning them increases your chances of winning, I assume that was working for them. I sold all of mine off quite a few years ago and bought back in over the last year, reducing more risky investments. First time around I had one or two £1000 chunks of bonds that seemed to win virtually every month and some that never seemed to win, in theory I don't think it should matter, but it does tend to look strange when you follow what your holding does.

Either way I am making plans for all the cash that arrives in my bank account on 4th September
