Is it just me or have Live Updates stopped this morning?
Switched it off & on but updates aren't showing (tested with two PC's showing same auction and a refresh on one shows the changes that haven't been updated on the other)

I've been on in the last hour (want to help the egg farm) but now can't even get on the site. FC has been promising to improve the site reliability for more than a year. They talk the talk but they don't walk the walk etc. They are not a competent IT team and I've given up on expecting too much. I had some bids on the BIKE shop yesterday which dropped out with 90sec to go .... FC refused to credit my account with the ability to rebid until after the auction ended. This nonsense has been reported before and sent them a very stern email of complaint, but they won't do anything.
edit: I've had a detailed reply partly ttelling us what we know, partly giving details of the site structure and paartly giving the excuse "we are a young business so issue do occure blah blah". Anyone wants to see the whole text can PM me.

I had some bids on the BIKE shop yesterday which dropped out with 90sec to go ... Live update was working for me on that one right up until the end - and then some. I gave up waiting for it after about a minute and refreshed the page. I think there finished up being about £20k of bids still ticking through after the countdown reached 0min 0 sec! (Fortunately, there was another couple of grand remaining above me - what was I missing about the numbers? I really couldn't figure out why the rate was so high, even the 14.9% bids only fell out about a day before close.)

Yes, it was working yesterday; I only noticed it today.
The last auction was 9196 and according to Firefox's web console there were no live updates at all!
Can others please monitor the next auction that's due to finish at 12:08 tomorrow to see if it's working for them?

Yes, the update (not the live beta one...the refresh/F5 one) worked right to the end but wouldn't update my "available to invest" figure when I was outbid, so I couldn't put in another one. That facility functioned again straight after the auction ended. FC admit that happens and have known about it for a long time but don't do anything to fix it. See forum comment about "trapped bids".

I've also noticed that the available funds don't update during an auction's closing period so I now have to make sure I have a surplus of funds to be able to make a rebid immediately, but without live updates this means constantly refreshing the page which can take an age  . |

Patchy. I lost a couple of auctions because Live Update became Dead Air ... couldn't see my position and refreshing gave no useful feedback (like walking down road with eyes closed and reverse-blinking them open every 30 seconds).
It is still in beta, so it can't be expected to work all the time.

mmm.. beta, how long has this been - over a year at least? I really hope that FC are just unaware that this wasn't working and are monitoring this forum  - please fix it FC. I know it sometimes can't cope with intense auctions but I consider it one of the most creative features of all the P2P lending sites that put FC above all the rest. |
