Hi all,
As I just introduced myself on another post I thought that I would do so more formally on my own thread. My name is Andy and I just joined Ablrate as Head of Fixed Income Products.
My background is in bond syndication for investment banks. For the last sixteen years I have been involved with arranging bond issues, talking to borrowers and investors and putting together large bond deals. Most of these have been in sterling, but I have a lot of experience in pretty much any currency that you care to name. I've done fixed and floating rate, conventional and inflation-linked, secured, subordinated and asset-backed. My client base on the borrower side was banks, governments and corporates so I have a good understanding of what they borrow and how they do it. Typical deal sizes that I have put together are anywhere from £50mio all the way up to £5bio. I've traded FX, derivatives and bonds.
We obviously have to be a bit careful what we say in order to keep the regulators happy, but if people ever have any general questions on markets, bonds etc etc then feel free to ask me. I won't offer an opinion on a specific deal but I would always be willing to let you know what things I would be thinking about.
best,
Andy

Thanks!! There's a lot of ideas being thrown around at the moment and we think that we have some great ways to out our offering on a whole different level. Our next twelve months is all about innovation and we hope to clock up some real firsts in the market that will be beneficial for investors. The P2P market can learn a lot from "proper" markets and "proper" markets can learn a whole lot more from P2P! Somewhere out there is a happy medium....*
*I use "proper" in a VERY tongue-in-cheek way
