It would be awfully nice if FS would tell us whether or not it was out boat that was involved. Don't you think folks?

Flat calm, looks like he was speeding in Southampton Water, hit a buoy, amazed police not called, prat. If I was the insurance company I don't think I would pay out!

My mistake it was off the mouth of the Hamble. As a kid I used sail there and might well have taken a laser dinghy out of the river there perfectly safely with a mast of about 4 metres in height and just the main sail which if angled correctly would have been a smaller target than any buoy. Now along comes a numpty at 80 mph and manages to hit a stationary buoy The speed limit in the Hamble is 5 mph, 6Knts The buoy probably marked the start of the Hamble Man should be banned and have his toy taken off him. Interestingly on a flat calm day it is very usual to hit buoys as the eye is constantly drawn back to the only thing near you, hence you end up aiming at it. There are similar problems with cows and hang gliding www3.hants.gov.uk/hambleharbour/navigation-safety/river-byelaws.htm

Standing underneath would be highly inadvisable for all sorts of reasons

I think my eye would certainly be drawn to a hang-gliding cow

Seems they're all at these days, half expected to find a shot of oldgrumpy giving it a go, but seems like he does have some dignity after all & has stuck to boats as his transport mode Wait a minute! _

I've just had a Brief conversation with Susan from FS about the boat. The loan is to the same company that the accident boat belongs to. However, as yet, they are unsure if the accident boat is the same one that the loan is secured against. I am told it is fully insured. I also said it might be a good idea for a representative of FS to post something here. A terrible situation all round and I hope the teenager is able to recover from his injuries.
