What's happening here ? I drop an image into the post, it looks ok but the image is missing when I submit it.

Literally drag and drop? (And is 'image' actually a displayed image on a web page or an image file from Windows explorer or ... ?) Below is d'n'd-ed from this web page into this post:

it's a png file on my desktop. It only works if I add it as an attachment first but then it's too small.

thanks. I finally realised that drag and dropping a file from your desktop does work. It was creating a thumbnail that expands when you click on it, I thought it was shrinking the image so you couldn't read it!
And sometimes when you drag the image file into the edit post, it displays the full image which is perfect, but it disappears when you create the post. That confused things even more.
