Err and air ships fly because overall they are less dense than the air they are flying in , which kind of cuts out compressing the hydrogen used for lift, so only part of the load will be energy dense, so probably not much usable energy load per trip. Better to transport the hydrogen in the form of ammonia in borring old super tankers maybe with hydrogen powered engines, for final processing at destination.

Making it elsewhere. I feel Smith's Wealth of Nations coming on.
There will always be places which are windier or sunnier than others or where capital is easier to invest or planning controls less sensible so hydrogen/ammonia will be cost affective in such places. Shipping as ammonia or in tanks in the sky makes sense but tanks in sky will always be just too far away to make work (IMHO) (cue photos of a variety of aircrashes over the years where weather conditions and large light bulky airships run into each other) "light enough to fly and strong enough to stay up" is the technical issue.

Hydrogen buses to expensive for the French.

I think I suggested, some time ago, that one day prosecutions for Extinction Rebellion activites might be converted into praise. I didn't expect it within just a few months. This is the second case that ER has won recently

Hydrogen buses too expensive for the French.
This is not the first hydrogen bus system to be removed from public use.
Logically the benefits of using hydrogen is 1) the storage of excess energy from green or nuclear energy which would otherwise be thrown away, 2) where filling the vehicle fast make best use of the capital during a 24 hour period 3) where the relative lightness of hydrogen and fuel cells does less damage to the roads than the heavier battery powered vehicle 4) the infrastructure cost including maintenance costs is cheaper
In this case Montpellier has other ways of storing excess nuclear energy (and the cost does not fall on Montpellier) and has the majority of that waste energy available when the buses are not being used so could be charged within the city easily. Montpellier must feel the damage to the roads is an acceptable cost of using batteries and certainly the infrastructure is not there (but the capital cost was carried by someone else).
I still feel that heavy vehicles that are used 24/7 would benefit from H2 power vector. The fill time is as fast as petrol or diesel. The logic to use H2 on large, long distance trucks becomes more and more sensible. Hence long distance trucks in the US are going that way.
Meanwhile in the UK we seriously want to look at electrical pylons over motorways to power trucks (think electrical trains). If you thought supermotorways were a dumb idea wait until you see this.
This link covers the Wright bus product as sold into Europe, worth a good read h2bus.eu/offering

This has to be appealed and overturned in this and the Bristol case the jury has ignored the evidence and the law and given a verdict based on feelings, or will we get jurys saying yes it was ok for Defendant A to rob the bank he was poor and needed money, but defendant B is guilty because he has money.

In terms of the statue, I never saw who had lost out financially. The council were never going to sell it so it had no value and no one was ever going to buy it is so it had no value. Dropping it in the harbour may have actually added to its value as it now has some fame.

Dropping it in the harbour may have actually added to its value as it now has some fame. It's now in the Bristol museum's collection. The ownership hasn't changed - it was gifted to the people of Bristol in 1895, and managed "in trust" by the council. There was a mid-four-digit amount of damage to various other bits of cityscape.

Oil and gas giant BP to partner Aberdeen's hydrogen plans
Plans for green hydrogen using solar panels, quite amusing no mention of wind turbines !

I see that large oil companies are asking us to trust them with storing CO2 in old oil wells www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-60203683shows they can't even control the methane coming out them at the moment at a time when methane is hitting top dollar

Just lazy journalism, any one in Aberdeen who is not aware of wind energy must have a medical problem while solar is a foreign concept, though BP will stick one in as a "beard".
