Another year has gone by and as intimated last year, both Zopa and Lending Works are now closed to new retail investors. Consequently, we have carried out a review of the Forum Board Structure and have today made the following changes: Zopa and Lending Works have moved to "P2x sites Closed to New Retail Investors" and “More P2x Closed to New Retail Investors” respectively; and RateSetter into the “Defunct P2x sites” sub-board. For the active platforms we are returning to a position of having ten on the main “P2x sites” Board and are moving the following Platforms from “More P2x sites” Connective Lending; Kuflink; Loanpad; Quardus; So Mo (formerly BridgeCrowd) UnboltedThis is predicated on the number of posts made on each platform over the last year. In a similar vein, we are moving all those Platforms in the “More P2x sites” sub-board where there have been fewer than 20 posts in the last year to the " Various" sub-Board viz: Invest & Fund; JustUs (formerly eMoneyUnion); Lending Crowd; LendInvest; Money & Co; The Money Platform (TMP)
Perhaps it is also germane to repeat that “The inclusion, position, or ranking of a platform, whilst at the discretion of the forum staff, should not be taken as any kind of recommendation, and is based primarily on the relative interest shown in the platform by the forum's users.”
In a further move aimed at tidying up General Polls has become a sub-Board of “General P2x Discussion” It's also an opportunity for me to thank the forum moderators, dan1 , df , GSV3MIaC , and Ton ⓉⓞⓃ for their continued contribution to maintaining the P2PIF in the last year.

Seems like a reasonable restructure of the forums.
Thank you to the forum administator/administrators.
What I'd be delighted is if there was a way of filtering out all the chitter-chatter about Coronavirus, politics etc. from the latest posts and threads lists. I appreciate that many people have got infinite free time for gossip and to showcase their 'expertise' as wannabe world-class epidemiologists etc. but I don't and the majority of posts now on these forums have nothing to do with P2P or investing.
These non-investing posts are highly distracting.

These non-investing posts are highly distracting. It would be nice if that functionality were built into the forum's software and configurable at the Profile level but (ultimately) ProBoards generates revenues through the number of pages displayed, so they aren't likely to implement a feature that would effectively cut down their income. (I suppose they could make it a paid for feature. Out of interest, would you be prepared to pay for the ability to do that? If so, how much? (Time is money, as they say....)) However, you may still be delighted (and for free!). If you use Chrome, take a look at: p2pindependentforum.com/thread/17981/hiding-threads - been using it over a year now and really notice it if I'm browsing the forum (and other sites) on a device that doesn't have that browser extension installed and configured. If you aren't using Chrome there's probably something similar for your browser-of-choice. An alternative would be to set up a series of bookmarks for those boards which have threads you like to follow. Not quite as convenient as the aggregated view presented by the Recent Posts / Threads pages but it would mean you'll avoid the distracting chitter-chatter.

That it is now more popular than the p2p section speaks volumes in terms of interest in p2p. Speaking for myself I do have more time than usual these last few weeks and you'll be pleased to know that will likely change shortly. If folk wanna gossip/engage while they wait for a train or whatever they are doing why shouldn't they?

That's great for them - and they are welcome to use their time entirely as they please. But I don't and it's distracting and time-consuming filtering through the 90% of posts today about the latest developments on Novak Djokovic's Australian Open visa situation etc. to find the odd post about P2P. Therefore, I simply wanted to see if there was a way of filtering out the non-productive chitter-chatter.

I'm with you. It is supposed to be a P2P forum, the rest is 99% noise. I couldn't give a FF about djokovic although that's not restricted to this forum.
Time to start using the Recent-T option even though I can scroll and filter out pretty good.

This is available in your profile under the privacy setting. I find it useful for people that annoy me on a regular basis.

Thanks , ut you're still fortunate enough to see my quoted posts aren't you? Indeed I am. Doubt you and I would fall out for long even if we disagreed on something. Although technically at the basic setting the posts still show, just as a one line identifier. Which can be read if desired but thins out what you see Never felt the need to use it but I think you can block people responding to you, not sure how that would present.

I don't see the problem here. If you go into the home page https://p2pindependentforum.com you can see all the p2p sites with the latest post for each, rather than an unstructured list of recent posts by date. I rarely even notice what's going on under 'general'. However, all those general posts allow the forum to justify its existence to the advertisers. Superior members, like me, who post only important and relevant material, can avoid reading the chat.

Due to their recent announcement, I have just moved Connective Lending to the Sub-Board “More P2x Closed to New Retail Investors” - here.

To reflect recent announcements and other changes I have just moved Ablrate into the “P2x sites Closed to New Retail Investors” board – here. I have also moved both Collective Lending and Zopa into the “Defunct” sub-board.
