Good Evening,
I am new to this forum and to P2P investing but I am interested in the loans being offered on this platform. As a potential new investor, will I find it hard to invest my money into loans on here or is this shortage just due to the current Covid-19 crisis?
I ask this as I have heard this from a few much more experienced investors than me who are struggling to invest on this site.
Sorry if these questions are basis but I am not familiar with how this system works yet.
Many thanks

The problem isn't covid related. If anything that would likely increase the need for pawn loans. It's simply an oversupply of investors cash. I.e. the platform is very popular because they have a good record.

I would drip feed your investment putting in roughly as much as your largest auto fund setting initially and only topping up when funds are nearly exhausted, otherwise you will get serious cash-drag bringing down your average interest rate. You can opt to get daily email up-dates which are an excellent way of monitoring your position, and if you transfer funds in before midnight they will be credited first thing the next working day in my experience. It's a popular platform because it seems relatively well managed and offers a different secured asset class from most. Can't really comment on the current loan flow as I'm not currently investing new funds.

I stand corrected. Sorry, total forgot about that email.

For info, here's today's daily update email for one of my accounts:
So, I got a £34.46 share of a new loan and a total of £19.95 in repayments. This is fairly typical.

It isn't a problem getting some money invested, but getting a volume of money is, at the level you are thinking, then a steady drip feed of cash each month for the first six months will see you get a few thousand invested, be prepared to have some money stood idle if you want to get more than £5 per loan.

Hello nooneere,
Thanks for the information and the update from Unbolted themselves. I suppose that it makes perfect sense that the market might have fallen for these type of loans at the moment as spending has greatly reduced with the majority of the public all stuck at home. I would however hope that this does improve once the country and world start to get back to some kind of normality again.
They are also clearly making investments in new people with a view to increasing the number of loans that they hope to get which sounds positive and have a plan to target certain areas.
I like the sound of this platform and the fact that you can invest in many different types of loans from watches to jewellery to artwork etc.
Many thanks

The first working capital loan for a while is now available.
59.93% LTV, 9.6% interest, or 10.8% for investing £5K, 11.4% for £10K, 12% for £20K.

Good to see working capital loans coming back, but I'll have to give it a miss as I'm already overexposed to this borrower.

Note that this borrower has 6 extant loans totalling over £400k. It's not easy on Unbolted to see one's current exposure to a borrower across multiple loans. Regardless, I've taken a chunk. All gone now.

This is a long term borrower who has repaid all previous loans, so there is some degree of comfort, however I prefer to stick to my self-imposed limit per borrower. We'll probably see more loans from this luxury watches dealership. It's easy to see the exposure as all of them (current and repaid) are shown on the same page.

It turns out I didn't have new loan notifications switched on. Odd as I thought I'd received them before. I guess I'm lazier than you. I think the total lent to a borrower should be displayed, rather than having to click through each loan and add the figures up myself, especially when I can see the availability is running out fast and I have 3 accounts to process 🙃
