I occasionally go over there and sometimes ask a question but I've been doing a lot less of the latter in recent years.
I've noticed there are a handful of regulars on there with tens of thousands of posts who seem to like jumping on new posts with obvious/pointless/boring answers. I wouldn't mind if that was all but many of these IMO are highly condescending, often making assumptions about what OP's position is and not answering their question directly.
So whilst I was bored one day, I decided to point out a few of them. Whenever I did that, I'd get 3 or 4 replies from the same set of posters each with multiple likes from each other. In the background thye'd all hit the "report" button and I'd get a warning. I'm now on my second and final warning.
I'll not continue there but the last warning and deletion of my posts came in a post where the moderator had clearly seen reply I was complaining about which was really a pretty unfriendly reply. The OP asked a load of stuff starting his post with a "Hiya..." , was a perfectly reasonable question and within seconds he got a reply "No". The moderator thought that met their "unfriendly" test but me calling that out did not. I'd be interested to see what my fellow (and largely sensible) forumites think of it. I'l post up the thread is anyone cares to take a look.

Yep when your off the naughty step post the link - i tend to find the savings board a bit like you say on odd occasions and most answers on investing seem to involve VLS 60 most of the time and anyone not agreeing is wrong.I miss Bowlhead (think that was his name) who seems to have also been banned for some reason after thousands of replies! and there does seem to have been a lot of posts from newbies about what fund to invest in which i am sure are windups just to see the same people mention VLS or the like for the hundredth time that week. But yes the views can be strident at times and wallstreet from here would be right at home there (although the pension board seems calmer)

I'l post up the thread is anyone cares to take a look. Yes post it! I used to post there ages ago. Some really helpful, kind and knowledgeable people, very generous with their advice but also some prolific ones who seem to see it as a power-based career proxy through which to fulfill their fetish for humiliating minions. Quite a few of them talk out of their backsides when it comes to e.g. tax. I've never had a row with anyone there though...I'm a passive aggressive drifter, me. Mods make or a break a place don't they. I was on a massive forum about 10 years ago (not UK based nor financially related) and there was a scandal with corrupt admin, evil top poster, sock puppeteering to whip up posting activity etc... ended badly and feuding continued across the interwebs for years. People are nuts anyway. Giving them anonymity and a wifi connection was never going to end well haha.

FWIW, I was a regular on the UK's Motley Fool forum until they closed it. Used to be a real treasure trove of useful information from helpful posters and, for the most part, was the epitome of civilised debate. It did re-surface as The Lemon Fool (https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/) but my visits tailed off so can't comment on either of the above aspects.

If there is a ruck between the forums over this do we go in mob handed or do the mods from each forum meet at dawn?

We're very lucky here.
One of my first experiences on a forum, the reply to my question was "Google is your friend". Of course I had Googled first, that's how I came across the forum!
